Awful, awful game. Wtf happened to us I don’t know. A terrible away team comes to KP at the bottom of the table and we can maybe see a not too stressful 3 points. What do we do? Give the ball away, forget everything we have achieved in the last few games (yeah no wins but a fighting ethos that got us draw points and closer) and eleven separate players who could not play as a unit. We actually looked like we were hungover. No single player stood out. Leitzig made some good saves but should not have been put in that situation.

It was a really poor show all round. I do wonder a bit about the selection, some of which felt like unnecessary squad rotation (for example I love Janina, but Kop can't be said to have put a foot wrong) but the whole attitude and approach was flat and lacked the fight that was evident against Liverpool and Arsenal - nor did there seem to be any ideas of how to turn it around, again this was evident in the other games. Hopefully the result will have given everyone the kick up the bum that looked needed, and the coaches will also have a better idea of the strength of the entire squad. Palace deserved it much, much more on the day and already look stronger than Bristol City, I think they'll stay up - probably at the expense of West Ham or maybe Everton, but we absolutely mustn't believe it can't be us based on that performance.

Finished 0-0

Making the goals and pitch slightly smaller would significantly improve the games in my opinion.

I may be being thick here, but, after a match has finished 0-0, how would making the goals smaller improve the games?

How did they look? I managed to drop off and dreamt through the first 80 minutes. Was very relieved to wake to find that we weren't 2-1 down!

At times, there was some good link up play, but needed a good save from the keeper right near the end to keep the stalemate.

Better than the Palace game.

In cricket they bring the boundaries in , maybe football needs to look into something similar for the ladies game.
If they can’t change pitch size, maybe play with a size 4 ball.

The keeping standard is one of the worse aspects of the women’s league. Average keeper height is 5ft 9 and so many goals go in that should be saved.

I’m only talking a few inches for the goal and maybe a few feet for the pitch. Would lead to more end to end games and a better standard of keeping - making the games more watchable.

I still don’t see how smaller goals is improving any of your points though, in terms of making a game more “watchable”? It might make it easier for goalkeepers, but that’s a different point?

I don’t think it is a different point and think it would help a lot. I don’t think the women’s game needs more goals to be better, it needs a quicker more intense game (smaller pitch would help) and the standard of keeping needs to be improved (and a smaller goal would help).

I don’t see this being any different to cricket bringing in the boundaries for women’s cricket and using a smaller and lighter ball.

Of course it’s doesn’t mean I’m right… :-)
