Levein has announced plans to sign 4 players this week, one is a Polish keeper unfortunately, but we can hope and pray the others are De Vries, Hammond and Maybury. With Hughes being sold to Hearts this week too (so say BBC Scotland) and these 5 released, we're on our way to clearing out the dead wood. Got to hope the Douglas to Gretna thing was true also.

Former Celtic and Scotland keeper Rab Douglas could be set for a comeback at Gretna if they win promotion to the Scottish Premier League.
The 34-year-old is currently out of favour at Leicester City.

Gretna stand-in manager Davie Irons told BBC Scotland: "I've spoken to his agent Blair Morgan and obviously if a player of that quality is available we'd be interested.

"However, it would be hard to attract Rab to a First Division club"

He added: "A lot depends on whether we get promoted".

Isn't Lycett the captain of our League winning youth team? I can't see why he would be first on the list to be shipped out. He must have been half decent to be captain ahead of Mattock, Odhiambo, Chambers, McKay, Gradel, Wykes etc who are all rated highly? Anyone know what his problem is/was?

Wykes has been at Hinckley for a year and will continue a two year deal next season. Average back-up player at that level

Lycett failed to make the 'step', he would have been training with the first-team and such like if he was good enough.
