“Sometimes, I’ll tell you things that will be below the belt and you have to be told that, as a young player in particular. But he knows the environment is there for him here to improve and develop. You won’t always get told what you want to hear but he understands he’s maybe made a slight mistake in terms of where he went to.”

Extract from the Telegraph interview with Rodgers lets hope Maddison is fired up for this game!

I’d keep him on the bench and go with the same starting 11 as last game

HaHa, tosser [me that is!]

Think I'd better leave team selection to Mr Rodgers

He scored, of course...but I think I agree with you that he should have started the Liverpool game on the bench, coming off of a 5-0 drubbing of Newcastle.

If he has a sense of entitlement (as reported) putting him straight back into a side that won 5-0 isn't going to help.

Indeed it is!

Referee: Jonathan Moss.
Assistants: Marc Perry, Eddie Smart.
Fourth official: Martin Coy.
VAR: Andy Madley.
Assistant VAR: Dan Robathan.

A time will surely soon arrive when officials outnumber spectators at even the highest level.

Why employ three people when six can do the job even more controversially?

Ture. At least we're not down the pub arguing over a shoulder blade being a millimetre offside though. Diving for pens has never been a concern for fans so I'm glad they continue to ignore that.
