It's not the job of anyone other than the manager to pick the team. He should get the glory for success and he should get the criticism for failure.

Is Top even there?

That is no doubt the ‘correct’ answer.

But there should be alignment between actions and a long term plan. I’m just interested in knowing if tonight is consistent with what our ambitions for the club are.

Wtf has happened to Ndidi?!
He had a very poor spell for a good chunk of last season also. Consistency is a huge issue for him.

I really don’t understand why we signed Iheanacho. He’s only ever proven that he has good positioning for tap ins when the team is 3-0 up.

And a few smart finishes against lower league opposition.

Can anyone remember him having a really good game?

Wtf has happened to Ndidi?!

He signed a 6 year deal in August. My view is that he is young and it has gone to his head.

He's turned utter shit. I think it's temporary, but if he's not dealt with better, it could become a permanent slump.

I think Iheanacho is a class finisher. He's another that has had all his attributes drained out of him. He's not a number ten, he's not a wide player. He's been badly used and badly managed. His confidence is shot.

Kelechi Iheannnacchhhooooo

He’s tragic, you knnnoooowww

I respect your opinion BN but I’m not sure what it’s based on at this level.
We’ve seen some smart finishes from him, but that was against Fleetwood town, was it not?

We have an absolute plethora of central midfielders. Shame they’re all a load of dog shit.

Exhibit A:

"Iheanacho ended the 2015–16 season with eight Premier League goals and had the best goals-per-minute ratio of any player averaging, a goal every 93.9 minutes. In all competitions he finished with a record of 14 goals and 5 assists although he only started 11 games".

Maddison doesn’t seem to have been this season, but he’s on the bench because finishing one place higher in the league is invitingly more important.
I meant in terms of the players who would play in the central midfield two, rather than Maddison who is more of an attacking midfielder.

Ndidi/Mendy/Iborra/Silva/James/King/Choudhury.

Was this when he played for Man City? Would be interested in how many of those were after City had effectively already won the game?

You could say that. I would counter with the fact that Man City finished that season 15 points behind us and Iheanacho was still only 19 at the time.
