I am seeing now why Brendan sometimes goes with Hamza over Mendy

Mendy is a 'screening' DM, whereas Ndidi attacks the ball a lot more and helps win the ball a lot higher up.

Hamza slightly offers more of the latter. Mendy stays just in front of a back 4

Hes not going to change it again by taking Mendy off, so we just need to hope that it works. I can see why Ndidi went in, Morgan would've been pulled apart by their attacking pace and Amartey is too clumsy to play up against Kane and Son

If our substitute centre halves aren't good enough then so be it but don't weaken our midfield to patch up the defence playing players out of position.
