We channelled Mickey Adams at the end of that. I thought we had decided resolutely to lose it in the 89th minute.

Was it wank?

Thought about watching it but smashed myself on the bike for 30 miles instead.

Both activities would have caused me pain.

Best thing to come out of watching tonights game online:

Half of these players won't/shouldn't be anywhere near the matchday squad...so why are they playing 10 days before season kickoff?
I thought that there were some really talented youngsters on show tonight. I like Johnson and he would make a good back three with McGuire and Evans. Choudhury would be ahead of Iborra in my opinion and although we lacked an attacking threat, Ndukwu and Gordon looked confident and promising. Perhaps they should go out on loan for half of the season.

The future is bright. The future is BLUE

Don't listen to them, Lako

It was a truly feckin awful game, and in the most part we were wank

Meanwhile, Simpson and King played for the U23s against Norwich

Smashing a bike sounds remarkably like what my dad did just before he and mum got divorced.

It was middling to a bit shit. Quite incredible to think that the season starts in just over a week and we’re facing the very real prospect of duffers like Benalouane and Diabate playing at Old Trafford.

If Evans is injured for the start of the season we might need Benalouane to be match fit.
Hopefully we'll sign another central defender before then, but it makes sense for him to be ready if he is needed. Or would you rather put a kid in the team at Old Trafford?

Rumour on the bus back from the game was that Evans is out for the season. The fellow spreading the rumour clained to have inside knowledge but I don't know how true it is.

I agree that Benalouane is a duffer but believe Diabate has real potential.

He has potential, sure. I’m sure that you would agree that having lost Mahrez, starting the season with Albrighton, Grey and Diabate as wingers is very underwhelming no? Diabate is quick and has some flair but creates absolutely nothing and gets brushed off the ball.

the match cemented a lot of what was already clear for me.
Schmeichel and Ricardo are first choices.
Morgan and Benalouane shouldn't really be near the first team.
We are struggling on the left side. Chilwell gave the ball away about 5 or 6 times in our half in the game and looked short of confidence.
Ndidi is our standout leader in the middle but Iborra, Silva and Choudhury all have shortcomings. Silva perhaps put his hand up the most but needs energy around him as he is short of pace.
Albrighton and Diabate were very disappointing both energy and end product wise. Gray will need to come in and be our main wide man.
Maddison is class. our midfielders main aim should be to get him on the ball on the half turn.
Iheanacho isn't busy enough to be up top alone he needs close support from wide men and maddison. that said his finishing is great.

interestingly when we went false 9 with Diabate in the second half we kept the ball much better around the front 6.

several of the young lads need including around the squad. it's clear that Johnson, Knight, Elder, Ndukwu and Gordon are bursting with confidence. I can see all of them getting game time or a good loan this year. Thomas looked technically good but is too slow for me.

team for Man Yoo based on last night and Puels hope that Evans would be fit.

Schmeichel
Ricardo Morgan Evans Fuchs
Ndidi Silva Iborra
Maddison
Gray Iheanacho

I don't think I've ever seen us so hopelessly undercooked and underprepared for a season as we are now

The post Premier League win season was notable for us fart-arsing around the world instead of operating a proper pre-season programme, but this one appears to be so hopelessly uncoordinated and aimless that it simply beggars belief.

We are eight days away from kicking off the season away at Old Trafford, and we look like a group of pub players who have never met each other before and have received no instruction whatsoever as to how to play the game

Worried about the season ahead.

Seems like we've hardly played any properly competitive friendly fixtures.

The defence looks beyond pathetic atm.

They misread it same as I did initially. The report stated 'miss the rest of pre-season' not 'miss the rest of the season'.
