On Sunday, I'm running the London Marathon for the 2nd time.

The only time I've run a marathon before was 2016 - the year we won the Prem!

I really don't want this one to be in the year we get relegated...

In a team that isn't scoring many goals, Nacho's record this season is decent.

I can't see why it's not blindingly obvious to everyone that he needs to be our lead striker right now.

Not only for his goals and assists, but also just from the eye test of how much more we create when he's on the pitch.

Perhaps you should hope it's cancelled. Or you break your leg during the week or summat.

They're the key words. What used to work will never work again.

Vardy has lost his mobility with chronic hip and groin issues that will never heal. It not only prevents him from properly sprinting but also he's obviously playing within himself because he knows he cannot put any stress on his body any more.

You cannot make his body do what it used to be able to. It happens to every single player and he's gone on for longer than most.

The only reason remaining to have him in the squad is for reputational value late on coming off the bench. He may still cause some defenders concern because they will be thinking about the Vardy in the past.

There was a moment in the game yesterday that summed up IMO what's changed with Vardy and why he's no longer making an impact.

There was a moment midway through the first half where Maddison broke with the ball on the right. In days gone by, it looked like the PERFECT Vardy setup for a ball over the top or diagonally through the channel for Vardy to run onto and in behind... But he didn't even make the run! Vardy of old would've been busting a lung to get in behind the defence and away. But he didn't even seem to speed up. He just stayed in front of the defender and looked like he had no intention to go at all.

Maddison then tripped... If I was being extra critical, I'd even say Vardy's hesitation to run is partly why. Because you could see Maddison looked up ready to play it, then I think he dithered because Vardy hadn't run, and that made him trip.

I wish I had Sky's giant tablet to put it in slow mo and circle Vardy's movement off the ball to show you. But I don't. And it's not the only example, just one that really stood out to me as a really obvious example where he's not doing what he used to do.

You don't need to illustrate it. I've seen it over and over for the last year. Sadly, he can't do it any more.

It's not a lack of confidence. It's not the manager or formation or style of play or bad luck . . .

He's just had his time.

Yep. I think he just knows he can't get there any more and then doesn't try.

It's sad to see.

It’s sad to see after all he has given to and for this club.

But his inclusion is now actively hurting our chances of winning football matches.

It’s the plot to some sort of LCFC version of the mighty ducks. Could his last act be saving the club from relegation. What a story it would be.

But what a time it was.
And no one denies that.

I think everyone here (apart from that Notts twat) would love to see it happen again but none of his performances this year have given us any real hope of it.

If we are to have the best chance of staying up and we play 2 up top doing so, Vardy should still be sub.

I don't see it as sad so much, just in the natural order of things... so, yes, thinking about it, I guess sad in that sense; the passage of time.

But 100% agree on the 2nd point. We have limited striker options as it is and Vardy is no sure fire answer. Now I'm not a huge fan of Nacho, and have been openly critical of his clown side, but he does have this knack of finding the net, against all my expectations. Which, after all, is what you want from a striker - even one that plays like he's wearing a Ronald McDonald costume sometimes.

Nacho on the pitch increases the chance of positive random events.

He is like a status change card in a trading card game like Magic:The Gathering
