are you backing him if no then who we going to get :102:

I honestly don't know. I can't see the sense though in one breath saying back him and in the next saying get rid in 8 weeks if we are in the bottom 4 - by then it's too late. Now is the time to make a decision and stick by it, not next week, not in November, not in the New Year.

I don't know who you turn to if you get rid but can it get much worse than the last few weeks? Rubbish football, rubbish results, rubbish excuses, I could go on.....

I don't have one YV but it seems people are giving it the big 'back Levein' - 'give him 3 years' etc etc but then are saying if we are in trouble in November we will have to get rid! Which is it? are we backing him or not?

Fair comment DF,I'm backing Levein all the way because I don't believe we will be relegated don't think we will even come close to it,but it seems others are 'hedging their bets' so they can be right on both counts.

I'm bored of the board, I say revolution, REVOLUTION!

I think also a lot of the people on here who are 100% behind Levein & Co don't get on here and say so because they are a bit tired of hearing the same negative/inevitible 'vibe' after every match so no longer bother looking and that isn't aimed at anyone in particular before you start DF;)

I take it that was to me.

I'm not hedging my bets i'm backing Levein NOW!!! I'm not moaning about the position we are in like everyone else seems to be.

If you read my original post I made it clear that IF things got worse you have to look at it.

"Of course, if things get worse and we find ourselves in the bottom three at Christmas then it is time to maybe look at things. But not now!!!!!!! Please support the team the club and the manager as much as you can."

It wasn't you either,it wasn't anyone inparticular.
I'm of the opinion we will not be relegated so I don't envisage us being in the bottom three for any amount of time.Of course if in February we are then I'm wrong and if that is the case(which IMO it won't be)then maybe CL will fall on his sword anyway.
The only manager of recent times I've ever wanted out is Taylor and contrary to Chandler's belief I never wanted MA out,I just gave CL as an option if MA was to go
As for you Babylon..haven't you any Packing to do...;)

HF we are in a relegation battle now. We have had a very easy start to the season and we are 2 points off the drop zone.

It's not like that DF - boards not supporters sack managers and irrespective of loyalty or not by supporters and statements of long term support etc, by a board, there are very few managers who could withstand say 6 or 7 successive defeats.

As I have said boringly and repeatedly, I don't think any of that is going to happen. I would bet on a finish in the lower half of the table - which is below the expectations most of us had at the beginning of the season... and a season of pretty uninspiring football.

Then if that happens....its unproductive to talk about 'we must back CL' ....we've had loads of managers in the past and will do in the future ...they all go in time ...it's a question of evidence & judgement of whether this particular manager is on the right track. I just wouldn't know about that at the moment.

We aren't Durham.Relegation fights don't start in October,we have had a bad start to the season. How can you judge an easy start,if you know which teams are going to be stronger this season before a ball is kicked then you must have some sort of gift. There are no easy games you are looking at Brighton ,Crewe, Cardiff etc and thinking 'they are total shite we should beat them' but its not the case anymore. We are equally as bad as them, its a poor League full of poor sides and we are one of them, the only difference being we will improve IMO.You've said yourself how well Watford are doing and at the start of the season you'd have probably lumped them in with the Brightons and Crewes and had Norwich in the Top Three by now.2 points of relegation and 5 off the Play offs.

I had a dream last night that when I woke up this morning I was going to find out Levein had been sacked. The club blamed our poor start to the season on "personal problems" in Levein's life causing him to be unsettled at the club, and therefore the board felt it was a good decision to get rid of him now as he was still trying to deal with his personal life or something..

Glad it was only a dream! ;)

Durham, I don't see how you can say November is too late to sack Levein if we are in the bottom 5. As long as we're not totally adrift in the relegation zone, then if a new manager can't save us from the drop in 5 months, (with probably a little bit of money to spend in January), then clearly the board havn't picked a good enough manager!
Levein needs time. Sacking a manager in less than a year is insane.

.....and we have lost/drawn to all of them. Relegation battles start from the first game and we are in the mire, make no mistake about that.

Thats why I used them as Examples..I really do understand how you are feeling DF but you are over doing it on the pessimism honestly.Like I said 5 points off the Play Offs,if I said that to you in August I'd imagine you'd have taken it? I'm not being as stupid enough as to think we are at the moment playing like ateam that are 5 points off the Play Offs but just for a second try looking up instead of down.I'd imagine there are a lot of Championship fans around the Country who are uneasy with being X amount of points off Relegation but constant talk of Relegation in late September is a bit miserable even for us

Please don't take this as a dig HF, but you aren't watching the games, you aren't at the ground on match days. There is a real lack of spark on and off the pitch. Everbody including the players and the manager seem down in the dumps. It's not a nice vibe. I admire your optimism but what single thing do we have to be optimistic about?

I knew you'd get round to this;)
But my Dad goes every home match with my brother and my sister. My 2 nephews are both Season Ticket Holders.I'm not basing my opinions on commentary by RL y'know DF,its based upon my own thoughts and those of people who I know and whose opinions I respect. My Dad is 81 being going for 60 years and he's not that 'down' on it,he says its not great but also says that a good few of the fans down there don't understand it is going to take time and that the best Leicester sides he's seen are the ones where the Manager was given that time.
5 points off the play Offs,no matter how shite we are playing still gives cause for even the smallest amount of optimism Durham surely.Of course everyone his down in the dumps butb in the end you've got to find some sense of hope in a time of adversity or else you may as well crawl up and die.

And a good few of them who are down the ground on Matchdays don't know what its like to be a mediocre side, raised on the MON days.

I had the same dream and turned on the radio as soon as I woke up feeling sure there would be an announcement! (The same thing happened when Micky left, I woke up earlier than usual, turned on the radio and 5 seconds later the news broke that Micky had resigned )
