For a lot of last year Kisnorbo and Macauley formed one of the best defensive partnerships in the championship. The stats proved this on goals conceded. How can they both now be regarded as average. Kisnorbo on form is a very good defender at that level. He may not be very cultured with a pass but most partnerships have one hoofer amongst them.

If either of them could pass a ball we may well not have gone down.

Because on the whole we adopted very defensive and cautious tactics last season, we played very one dimensional football and this highlighted their limitations. Both are solid defenders but lack the overall skills to progress any further than the Championship. We are now playing a much more attacking and expansive game and yet we still look very solid at the back, this will be down to some degree of the poorer quality of the division, but also that Morrison and Tunchev especially are better technically and better suited to playing a more expansive and exciting brand of football.

It probably didn't help that they didn't have any sort of organised midfield to pass to. Thus the hoofff

Possibly but also I believe that neither had the ability or composure to "play" out of defence, this is somewhat proven by Kisnorbo's failure in midfield, which in my opinion was down to his woeful distribution and lack of positional awareness.

As for McAuley again a steady defender that excelled in a defensive, cautious side, I would not like to play the type of football we are currently witnessing with either of these two in our side, it would be a reciepe for disaster !!!

But would they be against better opposition, they might not be good enough in the Championship either, just have to see I guess.I'd prefer us to get in one proven Championship/Premiership Centre Half if we went up

Every player is shit, im better than all of them.

As it is now generally being acknowledged that Howard is playing well. Whilst not scoring many admittedly, he is contributing with his general game play. What would we do if he got injured, do we have cover that can play the same roll or should we look for a big striker on loan in the transfer window to provide that cover.

I agree, as I have already stated, if we go up I would like to see us add another centre half to the squad and given Pearsons decent record in the transfer market I have no doubt it would be a player of far better ability than either Kisnorbo or McAuley.

Is cloning aloud?

I do think we need cover for Howard as neither Dickov, Hayles nor Campbell can play a similar role, I would also like us to bring in a different type of forward as well, a player in the mould of Sheringham or Beardsley, I just feel that clubs will cotton onto our tactics and another option would be good to mix it up a bit and offer an alternative to the little and large combination. It might also provide the bit of spark or magic to break down the teams that come to the Walkers and shut up shop.

Lee Trundle could provide that option if available.

Its been said before but Windass would be ideal

I can only assume Kisnorbo was rushed back into the team with the intention of proving his fitness for potential buyers in the January transfer window and the opportunity to maximise his diminishing transfer value.

I can't imagine for one moment that that would be true. The most important target for this season is to get promoted at the end of it. Getting a fee for Kisnorbo lies 197th on the list of priorities and to think that the present manager would try to pull such a stunt is bonkers IMHO.

Who said it was the Managers idea ?

But surely it is also bonkers to select a player who's inclusion coincided with the poorest run of form in the season and defensive instability, the fact he was continually selected despite this and that his run in the side was curtailed only by an unfortunate injury, this subsequent absence has since seen us go on an excellent run of form and pretty impressive defensive performances.
