True but having a MOTM would suggest to me that someone deserves praise for that performance. :102: :102:

You are probably right, just thought Williams,Fryatt and Kenton were Ok...definately nothing special but ok.O'Grady didn't look too bad either, plenty of determination.

We are not going to do any better this season unless we acquire some wide midfield players.

Taitto and Maybury are NOT, and never have been, wide midfield players.

Agreed. In the past I've said you don't necessarily need flying wingers to do well, but with the way we played it's clear that decent wingers would do us a lot better since our team doesn't seem to want to pass it around in midfield at all.

With the players we have at our disposal I don't think we should be attempting to play 4-4-2.

You're right all the players you mentioned were better than the rest, Fryatt who tried manfully with no service, Kenton who covered for our missing full backs from time to time and Williams who tried to make things happen. It is just that they win as a team and so lose as a team and as such I am saddened by the whole woeful performance.

Sadly that woefulness also extends to the coaching staff as well. :icon_sad:

Agreed. 3-5-2 would be a better format for the personnel we have.

Absolutely shocking and woeful performance. I can accept defeat and poor performances, as they are part and parcel of football but it was the lack of passion and commitment that really pissed me off today, we were second to everything all over the pitch and we never threatened their goal in open play.

It is early days and I refuse to press the panic button yet, but on the evidence of todays performance there has to be a drastic rethink in formation, team selection and tactics if this is going to be the benchmark of our performances this season.

I agree with Melts worse than any of the shite served up under Levein or Adams.

I would like to see us go with 3-5-2, as I have stated on numerous occasions.

Oh dear, God help those that are sat around us this season :icon_lol:

Many more performances like that and you two will have the Stand to yourself...

shit

4-4-2 is not the right formation for us, we have no wingers. The only way we can play 4-4-2 is with Porter and Low/Sylla on the sides.

Im not panicing yet, we always **** up on the first game of the season...

Problem is the last 2 seasons have seen us continue to **** up well beyond that and on the basis of today's performance there are little or no positives to take forward to Tuesday.

Too much gloom and despondency after too much misplaced optimism...we played today almost excatly like we did against Macc Town and Stockport pre-season; its just that Luton were better than a League 2 side.
We will play better and should be ok in this league but be realistic - we have a bottom third midfield and 'keeper, a mid-table defence and some half decent strikers. So we're bound to finish 8th - 15th (I hope).

According to Kamara there aren't many midfields better than ours in the Championship!

Crappy crappy Kamara. He's such a curly haired, shitty moustached todger face who's comments are about as incisive as a spoon on a diamond.

True, he usually lambasts us, adminstration, our past managerial situations he usually sticks his shitty neb in.

There is bound to be depression, despondancy and gloom around, we have just witnessed 90 mintes of utter shite that was devoid of any positivity and this in the season opener, most are probably fearing a repeat of last season and based on today's evidence who can blame them. For me it is the nature of the tactics and performance which have caused me the most concern rather than the result.

There were no positives whatsoever to take out of todays match.
