I'd just like to say this about Elvis Hammond.

I think he is a good player, if you look at him for what he is. Don't expect him to get you 20 a season, he wont. Don't expect him to score every chance he gets, he wont.

But here's what he does do:
  • He forces the opposition back because of exceptional pace. He forces teams to leave 2 or three people back to cover him. As a result less pressure is put on our goal and we concede less.
  • He runs at the opposition and scares them. Because of this people like him and Levi have a chance to break. This was seen to some effect at Hereford, but there have also been other examples.
  • He runs all over the pitch, so defenders find it hard to mark him. Again they leave more defenders back to deal with this. He will also run to wherever the ball is, even if its the 90th min of the game, putting pressure on the opposition.
  • In the late stages of the game you hoof it, and he can hold it up well.
However Rob Kelly doesn't see what Elvis is good at. Hence his continual exclusion from the starting 11. Elvis is good at tiring a defense or playing against a tired defense, but he need to understand this. Putting him on the right wing didn't and won't achieve anything.

**Grabs Tin Hat**

whoever it is you are talkin about he sounds f uckin brilliant sign him quick, he could do a job for us

If you look at it I think you will find out previous good runs of form this season have been when Hume and Elvis start upfront. Don't know if a Statto could confirm this?

I knew what you meant fox fan, I've drank too much & am being beligerent after todays result, sorry. No offence meant

Not checked the results, but I'm certain we've played better with those two together, although Fryatt and Hume have played well together in recent matches.

I know, but everytime Fryatt comes into the team it coinsides with a bad run of form. I dont think its his fault (although for parts of this season he has been a Fat lazy barsard), just that we haven't recognised and addressed what will change by taking Elvis out of the team.

Complete and utter piss poor wank shite (and I'm not talking about "combust") - against possibly the worst opposition we have seen this season

Hughes should never play again - and Maybury should be close behind him

Kelly you are a clueless git

The cold stench of relegation is pervading the club from top to bottom

And it was such a great decision to sell Gareth Williams, wasn't it.........

You've been wearing your rose tinted spectacles for too long you poor deluded old fool.

I admire the way you have tried to put a positive spin it, but it just don't wash with me

We started off playing at a decent tempo and deservedly took the lead, from then on we seemed to disappear back into our shell and seemed intent on defending the lead and then the point.

Some strange tactical decisions today from Kelly :

1) Why not select Hammond, who's confidence will have been up following last weeks goal, from the start and then replace him with Horsfield who was far from match fit with say half an hour to go.

2) Why put Stearman in centre mid.

3) Why have both Stearman and Kenton on bench ??

4) Why take off Yeates who had a fairly decent game if he wanted to inject some pace and freshen things up why not change the formation to 4-3-3.

5) We clearly needed to freshen things up in 2nd half as we had run out of ideas especially in the attacking third, why leave Cadamarteri on the bench for the whole 90 minutes.

with the team we have got we should be playing 4-3-3 ive been saying that for months

RK doesn't have a clue when it comes to management. He has a plan A (generous) but no plan B. Even worse than that is that the players are not playing for him. There is no passion what so ever. He needs to resign or be sacked.
The ref and linesman were very poor yesterday. But the fact that our players virtually never complain at a decision mean that they can get away with it.

Leicester City 1 v 1 Luton Town
Leicester manager Rob Kelly has set his side a 16-point target from their next 16 games to secure their Coca-Cola Championship status for another season after they were held to a 1-1 draw by fellow strugglers Luton.

The Foxes, now seven games without a victory in all competitions, lie just three points clear of the drop zone on 34 points.
Kelly believes his side will have to dig deep if they are to break the magic 50-point barrier which should guarantee their future in England's second tier for another year.
He said: "Myself and my players have to approach the remainder of the season knowing we need a minimum of 16 points from our remaining 16 games. I think everyone looks at the 50 points initially and they're not going to be easy to get.
"You saw today there's going to be a lot more games in this division between teams at the wrong end of the table scrapping away. I didn't think there was a lack of effort or commitment from either side, they both battled.
"I can understand the supporters' frustrations. We just have to focus and make sure we win football matches."
Mark Yeates enjoyed a dream debut scoring the Foxes' opener after six minutes before substitute Dean Morgan rescued a point with a 33rd-minute header.
Kelly was delighted with the contribution of Yeates, a loan signing from Spurs, and another new arrival from the Premiership, Sheffield United forward Geoff Horsfield.
"For Geoff to get 90 minutes was 20-25 minutes more than I thought he would. He's a naturally fit individual and he actually looked like he was getting stronger as the game went on," he said.
"Mark is a talented player. It was great for him to score with probably his first touch for the club, but he has not played a great deal of football either. But there are some promising signs there."
The result leaves Luton, now seven league games without a win, just one point clear of the drop zone, but manager Mike Newell insists his team have nothing to fear once their injury worries subside.
He said: "If you look at the bottom half of the table, there's a lot of clubs that could get dragged into this. There are 15 games to go, it's an awful long time - a third of the season.
"We're not kidding ourselves, we're not playing great, or anywhere near as well as we can play, but that's because we're short of players.
"When you've got all your players fit, you pick the players who are in form. At the moment we are having to pick the players who are fit.
"There's miles to go. I'm not looking or thinking about relegation. I know that when we have our players fit, we are capable of winning."
And while the Hatters' search for an away win continues - they have not won away in the league since defeating Barnsley at Oakwell on September 30 - Newell was pleased to see his side end a run of three straight league defeats.
"It was a scrappy affair. At the end of the day I'm quite pleased with the point because we gave a bad goal away having started the game quite brightly. Sometimes you think here we go again.
"The players are working hard and they are rolling their sleeves up, which is all you can ask for.
"We have played better and got beat. Just because we've got a point doesn't mean it's a better display - results mask things sometimes. We have got a point and we are competing in games."
And the Hatters boss believes on-loan Fulham forward Bjorn Runstrom has a part to play in that revival.
"I think he has got more to come. He had two very good chances in the first half, he basically hit them too well if you can do that. What you often find is if you don't hit them so well they go in. "He has come into a side that is not doing particularly well at the moment and it's difficult. He has shown a good attitude and he never ever looked at the league table when we asked him to come. He just wants to play football."

A possible problem with the MM takeover is that people's already over inflated sense of how 'big' the club is will be increased further, and people will expect immediate success. Maybe the takeover will give the club a boost and a mood of optimism will transform our form on the pitch, but if success doesn't happen quickly people will get even more downbeat than they are now.

Is that possible?:102: I've never known apathy like there is now:icon_sad:

I agree Highland. All time low right now for me.

With this clown as Manager we will not get any better-FACT.If he keeps us up,which I have my doubts about,I fully expect MM to replace him in the Summer.
