Looking forward to this game, a good cup run could do us good and maybe we could be rewarded with a nice trip to Old Trafford !!

As for the game I will go for 2-0 to Leicester and I would proberly mix the team up a bit.

I would go for -

Weale

Powell Tunchev Hobbs Neilson

Gradel Adams Oakley N'Guessan

Waghorn (if available) Howard

Subs -
Logan
Dyer
Fryatt
Berner
Wellens
Chambers
O'Neill

If Waggy is unavailable I would give N'Guessan a go up front, and start Dyer on the left with Gradel on the right.

Re: Pre Match Thread - Macclesfield Town (CC1)

I wouldn't change the team around too much but I would give Neilson a run out in this game at right back and start with N'Guessen up front with Howard as I doubt Sunderland will let us play Waghorn in the Cup. I'd also give Adams a run out too.

Re: Pre Match Thread - Macclesfield Town (CC1)

Neilson is banned.

Re: Pre Match Thread - Macclesfield Town (CC1)

I'd rest wellens, hobbs, howard and weale. It would be a nightmare if we lost any of our key players in a poxy cup match.

Re: Pre Match Thread - Macclesfield Town (CC1)

Fryatt desperately needs match practice

Re: Pre Match Thread - Macclesfield Town (CC1)

For the first two league games, I thought ?

Bans are normally until the player's club has played xx first-class games. The League Cup is a first-class game.

Don't think we need to put a full strength side out. Fryatt, Gradel, Adams Tunchev and Dickov need games and I think it would be a good chance for Logan and O'Neil to get involved too. I wouldn't want any of Howard, Waghorn, Hobbs or N'Guessen getting injured before Ipswich based on Saturday's perfomance. Looking forward to this one though as it's only just down the road for me.

Logan

O'Neil
Tunchev
Brown
Berner

Adams
King
Wellens
Gradel

Fryatt
Dickov

Subs:

Weale
Morrison
Oakley
N'Guessen
Howard
Waghorn
Dyer

Neilson is banned.

Neilson will miss Swansea's visit to the Walkers Stadium on August 8 and the trip to Ipswich on August 15. The suspension only applies to league games so he will be eligible for the Carling Cup first round tie at Macclesfield in between.

Where did you get that from? If that is the case, the only explanation is be that it must be different because the suspension was transferred from another F.A.

I would play Logan Powell Neilson Gradel Tunchev Danny Dickov (rest Hobbs Berner Wellens Brown
Weale Howard Oakley ie Logan
Neilson
Tunchev
Morrison
Powell
Gradel
King
Adams
NGuessan
Fryatt
Dickov
0-2 Fryatt Dickov

I'd agree, except I would play Oakley instead of Wellens, as Wellens is more important to the team for Saturday, and there is no point in including Waghorn on the bench if he can't play. Give Ashley Chambers or McKay a chance.

I will be going to Lincoln v Barnsley tomorrow.

I understand Hume will be getting a run out. Nice to see him back :038:

Yup - just looked up the Scottish system. They still get points for bookings - he got 18 this season, which equals a 1 game ban. However, as he also got 18 points the previous season, he has another game to serve.

These bans apply only to League games in Scotland, so that is why he is banned from two league games here.

I don't get what you're saying.

On one hand you're saying that Morrison didn't look comfortable at right back but on the other you're saying we should play him anyway despite Neilson being a specialist right back?

I'd much rather have Morrison play at centre back when we need him as that's where he's strongest.

No because others on here have said Morrisson had a good game and really if we beat Ipswich he could have a good argument if dropped having been part of a winning team.

I wasnt saying that hes crap at RB but we should keep him in. It just came out wrong.

Neison was signed to be our first choice right back. If fit he will play league games once his ban is over. Morrison is a good fill in at right back, but at the end of the day he is a centre back.
