Ye I suppose I worded that wrong soz! I was just trying to say that really most of if not all of us really did expect promotion.

Your answer should've been: promotion was the minimum you expected, promoted as champions being the maximum.
Then he'd have looked a bit of a tit and you could've smirked at your own magnificence instead of squirming and apologizing for a perfectly good post.

Don't say that around BG, only 4 or 5 of us did apparantly :icon_wink

Haha ok. I must admit at the start of the season I was saying play-offs however once the season began and I see how bad League 1 was I thought we would win the league.:icon_lol:

Tbh, i was just hoping for a play-off spot, didnt think wed get it automatically let alone as champions, may just have been my pessimism after the dire crap wed had to watch under Levein/Holloway and the rest (though not so much the rest)

Ye I think the same with me. Having to endure the shite we have had to in previous years I never thought we would be able to win the amount of games we have. I could see us getting play-offs but not automatic. I LOVE YOU PEARSON!!!

Yeah :icon_conf. I just didn't know how to word it, ah well.

Call me cynical but i reckon part of the reason for not having an open topped bus is becasue they want to sell as many games for the scunthorpe game as possible, and they know if thats the only opportunity the fans will have to see the celebrations, then it will sell out.

personaly however i dont feel this deserves an open top celebration, as this is a season of relief more then achievement.

I feel similarly - promotion/third division champions is something that I am finding very hard to be too excited about. We have done what we had to do this season - and that is to get promoted at the first time of asking.

Now we have an opportunity to do what we should have been doig for the past 4 years or so.

All I want is a bit of perspective. I'm delighted with this season and promotion. I think NP has done an excellent job but:

1. He had by far the largest squad and wage bill of all clubs in the league.

2. He had the freedom to recruit 10 Premier League players on loan to add to this group. No other team could get close to this.

To be honest, anything lower than 2nd place would have deserved the sack.

Celebrations should be kept to an absolute minimum because there is no glory in finishing this season in the lowest position in our entire history. On Friday night, my emotion will be relief, not pride. Pride comes when we punch above our weight, not bully a kid half our age.

Cannot believe you are going, will you not be too ashamed. I am fed up with the attitude you have shown during the whole of this season. I'm very proud of the job we have done and I'm looking forward the next season. Your total disrespect of football below the Championship does you no favours at all.

Well said. Everyone hoped we would get promotion and the style we have done it in has been fantastic. It's taken bigger clubs a lot longer to get out of this league - Forest and Leeds were once amongst the biggest clubs in the country and have struggled in this league, so to suggest that we are far too big for this league just smacks of arrogance. We're here because we've been ****ing awful for the past few seasons and we completely deserved our relegation.

My thoughts exactly CF.

So what if we were in Division 1 or the third tier of English football. 23 other clubs in the division would swap places with us now. All this bullshit about feeling relief rather than pride and joy makes me sick!
Leicester City next season is in the second tier of English football, again nothing to shout about is it, but we will go out and go for it. Swansea are sitting in 7th place today so no reason why we cannot look at play offs next season as well at the minimum.

But to all you arrogant bastards who look upon what we have done this season as little more than finishing in our lowest ever league position, pull your head out of your ring piece, we are no AC Milan or Barcelona and never will be. But we will compete and try to take any piece of silverware that is on offer to us.

Well said that man, and exactly the kind of thinking we need to carry with us next season. We were in this division because that is how good we were the season before, now by the same justification we deserve to be in the championship, but nothing more. We need to treat next season with the same respect and sense of achievement for whatever we achieve.

At the end of the day, we can only beat what's in front of us and we have done just that - some fans will only have been happy if we won 5-0 every game. We have lost only 4 games and we have averaged over 2 points a game. We have more points than any other team in the Premiership/Football League.

We have done what so many teams have failed to do, bounce back at the first attempt. This has been an unbelievable season and the most enjoyable since the promotion season of 2002/03.

Thanks BG, I was starting to think I was the only one proud of our achievement this season. Good post on expanding what I was alluding to. I've sat on my hands a bit by not posting about this before but that was the final straw coming the day after we went up as Champions. Welld done City.

We were the best we could possibly have been this season, we did more than Forest and Leeds ever could and for this we should be proud.

It is not easy to win any league when you are touted as the favourites from the start, everyone wants to gun you down, up they're game against you and make life as hard as possible. The fact Nigel kept the troops focused on the job we had to do and ignore the snipes from the less talented is an achievement and shoulod be celebrated at whatever level any individual deems appropriate, for me that was having a good load of beers and just enjoying my team being classed as champions, the champions of what is irrelevant after the last 6 years.

Well done Leicester for being better than EVERY single other club in this league, I for one am so proud.

I'm more than happy with how we've done this season - but it still has to be put into perspective

I've never compared us with Europe's elite but I would hope we could be good as good as Wolves, Sheff Utd, Birmingham etc

Why do I feel like I'm living in Stepford and Mad Mandy is visiting homes in the night replacing people with unconformist opinions with 'mongie doppelgangers'.

I'm keeping a baseball bat by my bed tonight. I will not become a brainless moron.

Too late, you live in LFE.

What you going to do? Crawl out of the Wilson estate when we are top of the Premiership?
