Fine, but Kelly's always come across as calm and collected to me...

You are absolutely right....calm and collective too, but without an ounce of inspiration and constantly drawing positives from narrow defeats; home draws. His win ratio is horrific and I would link that about every manager in this league fancies there chances in out thinking him.

I am so surprised so many will keep with RK..... will they still have the same opinion when we are sucked into a relegation battle..?

What do you mean, "when" :102: , we are only 4pts clear of relegation

Kelly gives the impression of being a nice guy; never gives offence and appears harmless- also people don't expect much from the club these days - so it's a question of low expectations and not being too disappointed.

If - if - the club is dragged out of its deep rut - then Kelly will no longer be manager.

Although Newell has done well at Luton, I have a problem with mouth it speaks before his brain engages sometimes. He backs it up but has not enhanced his reputation in football. Bad enough the club still suffering about the way they went into administration, without somebody coming in and bad mouthing the football establishment single handily. I still think he will make a good manager in the long run but will have to wait a long time to get a top job.

I can't put my finger on what it is about Mike Newell. He's got some qualities that I look for in a manager, but something is telling me I don't want him at this club.

I vote Dowie. I'm staggered how unpopular he suddenly is.

He took over Oldham when they were even more skint than we are and got them playing winning football.

He took over a poor Palace team struggling, much like we are now, and took them into the Premiership in 6 months. It would be like someone taking us into the Prem this year from this position. Incredible achievement. He then was a whisker away from keeping them there. He also managed to co-exist with that knob Simon Jordan and get Andy Johnson to sign a 5 year contract after they get relegated. All these suggest to me that he's got something about him.

He then went into a no-win situation at Charlton. His results considering the opposition weren't that bad. He was just the victim of a right old mess behind the scenes.

He's now out of work, hungry to prove Charlton and other doubters wrong. He's available, would be perfect for us right now and would I'm pretty sure would deliver Premiership football within a couple of years with reasonable backing.

Personally, I find anyone that would prefer RK or that fool Newell, barking mad. Is it cos he's ugly?

And . . .

Didn't that Newell fella already turn us down a year ago after playing us off Luton to get a new contract?

A manager that turns us down once shouldn't get a second chance in my book.

8 of you so far would have us go back to him cap in hand, "Excuse me Mr Newell Sir, I know you said you would rather stay at a piss poor shoebox of a club and sell all your players rather than come here but now we've got a few quid so would you care to reconsider".

Feck off. He was a self-serving whore as a player and he's a self-serving whore of a manager.

I voted A N Other (although I hate the phrase). Anyone but one of the 3 mentioned...
Some thick fecker sent me a credit card application and left all his details on it. His name was AN Other

It's understood that Newell had a disagreement on the basis of having Brian Stein as his assistant, City want to keep Kelly in that role. We didnt even have a formal interview with him.

I thought it was well accepted we actually interviewed/negitiated with him twice.
