I thought it was well accepted we actually interviewed/negitiated with him twice.
......but never offered him anything

Wish we'd taken Billy Davies....

huge mistake
I vote Dowie. I'm staggered how unpopular he suddenly is.
He took over Oldham when they were even more skint than we are and got them playing winning football.
He took over a poor Palace team struggling, much like we are now, and took them into the Premiership in 6 months. It would be like someone taking us into the Prem this year from this position. Incredible achievement. He then was a whisker away from keeping them there. He also managed to co-exist with that knob Simon Jordan and get Andy Johnson to sign a 5 year contract after they get relegated. All these suggest to me that he's got something about him.
He then went into a no-win situation at Charlton. His results considering the opposition weren't that bad. He was just the victim of a right old mess behind the scenes.
He's now out of work, hungry to prove Charlton and other doubters wrong. He's available, would be perfect for us right now and would I'm pretty sure would deliver Premiership football within a couple of years with reasonable backing.
Personally, I find anyone that would prefer RK or that fool Newell, barking mad. Is it cos he's ugly?
I would like to think you are both right but I just can't see Dowie being the right choice for LCFC,personally I would stick with RK until the end of the season and review the managerial situation then.Great post Brown Nose, agree with it all.
What was/is?
Billy Davies was rumoured to 'be ready for us', quit his job at Deepdale and make his way here. TNBD decided to be pleasant and ask Preston for permission in threat of a legal row with PNE.

A bit harsh BG, our recent performances have shown we have more quality in our squad than others in the bottom 8 to 10 places in the fizzy.and at the same time working out how to get out of Div1....

For the time being.and some of them are above us......
For the time being.

There has never been any doubting that point, the problem has been motivating them to play like that week in and week out, the only reason they have started to pull their fingers from up their arses now, is feck all to do with Kelly, just the sudden realisation that the gravy train that is Leicester City is just about to be taken over and the likelihood is that if they don't start justifying their wages they will be booted out, it is self preservation.
