I maintain it’s confidence, but I know I’m in the minority.

Probably also that since the new year, his “appearances” in the league have amounted to a total of 86 minutes spread over 12 games. Apart from the supposed benefit of running down the clock, this has been absolutely pointless other than to feed the disaffection and loss of confidence he’s clearly showing.

But one breeds the other. You can't expect to extend your minutes on the pitch by missing sitters like the one yesterday or misplacing every pass you attempt when you come on. There must also be a reason successive managers haven't trusted him with more than a few moments of game time.

Like I said, the simplest explanation of things is often the most plausible.

he has had little game time because he is not the required standard the lad has had plenty of opportunities since he signed for us but has come up short, not because he is unlucky but because he is simply not good enough.

Pep getting a little word in with Chilwell there....
It’s about ****ing time someone called Pep out on this. He was in Maddison’s ear as well, and Mahrez a couple of seasons ago.
But the FA won’t do anything, because they’re Manchester City, and he’s Pep, god of football.
And, of course, they’re too busy chasing teenagers that said something daft 6 years ago.

Puel played Demarai fecking Gray up top over him

Says more than any words ever could
