My point is that he isn’t going to be publicly call out the players. So he’s either going to say it’s on him, or as per the other night, need to do more work on the training ground - which is ultimately the same thing just worded differently.

I agree that we’re conceding a lot of goals, but disagree that we’re conceding in “exactly the same way every single game.” I don’t recall seeing a free kick off the head of a defender before the other night. But ultimately, we’re scoring a lot of goals. And whilst we’re doing that, and picking up some results along the way, I don’t really care that we’re conceding a lot. You do, that’s fine.

In terms of the transfer market, ultimately no one knows exactly how much say he has in this, even you don’t despite claiming otherwise. It’s fair to say that the new recruits haven’t exactly set the world on fire (I include Fatawu in that), but we weren’t exactly an attractive proposition being a newly promoted team with a massive points deduction hanging over our heads. Any player joining would be doing so knowing they’d likely be playing in the Championship next season, or being here for one season only.

You can jump aboard any Cooper out train that you would like, but if we fail to beat Ipswich we’ll still not be in the bottom three. I think most would call that a success at the end of the season, so I struggle to sure why some don’t think it’s a success during the season.
I agree with all except the last paragraph.

With the points deduction we would have done extremely well to avoid the drop but now, without that particular sword dangling above us, realistically (and with our squad), mid table (10th to 14tj) should be achievable.

A defeat to Ipswich would be an extremely poor and damaging result in my opinion.

I guess this is where we differ.

I believe we have a much weaker squad than we did when we were relegated.

And then we got promoted without really smashing the league to pieces (we don’t even feature in the top ten highest points totals and got fewer points than Burnley the season before). And then haven’t exactly made great signings.

So I don’t think we do have a squad that should be 10-14th. I think if we finish 10-14th it’ll be a bloody miracle and we’ll have overachieved massively.

I agree that our squad is weaker than when we were relegated but we should be better than about half a dozen sides in the Prem right now.

We aren’t doing terribly and we aren’t doing magnificently, we are, I guess, treading water.

What is frustrating is that the major issues we have are fixable but we just don’t seem to want to.

Going 5 at the back away from home makes perfect sense then see how it goes but currently we are inviting losses due to our set up and we can’t keep clawing back from a deficit.

As the best of the promoted sides, I'd say that anything above 18th is a good outcome.

Having watched all the PL sides enough now, I don't see any real likelihood of us finishing higher than 18th.

Palace and Wolves are considerably better than us. Everton also have the edge over us with Dyche being so experienced at doing just enough.

So I look at Cooper and want to see any signs of progress. Anything to suggest that we'll at least be close enough to exploit something like new owners at Everton changing manager and messing up. Or someone having a collapse like we did two years ago.

I just don't see it though. The players just don't look like they are on board with the tactical plan. The tactical plan is dog shit so I don't blame them.

I'm just disappointed in Cooper so far. Objectively, we're about where you'd expect but I worry about us. We stink of a relegation team.

If we survive it will be through luck.

Largely agree with this. Except that Wolves are considerably better than us. I don’t see much Premier League level talent in their squad. And their manger is no better than Cooper.

Completely agree that it’s hard to (objectively) see signs of progress with us this season.

I think Wolves have had a tough run of fixtures. To date, they've played the teams in the following league positions - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th and 12th. They've been a bit unlucky in a couple of those games, but I suspect they'll move up the table, given that their next 9 games are all against teams in the bottom half and I think they're probably better than their league position suggests. Time will tell, I guess.

We conceded the free kick from which they scored because of a stupid challenge and naive defending; exactly what we've seen time and time again. The other goals were all shit defending of the type we have seen in every other game. You could put a piece of tracing paper over a map of most of the goals we've conceded and your pencil wouldn't have to travel too far.

I've never claimed to know any more than anyone else about transfers. That was my point. Do keep up instead of making up. Wibble like this doesn't help. The point is, our recruitment has been awful and the management must carry some responsibility for this. It's nonsense to suggest that we couldn't have done better because we may have had a points deduction. For the money we spent, we could absolutely have done much better.

Not being in the bottom three after playing Southampton, Ipswich, Everton, Forest & Palace wouldn't be hugely surprising. Our win against Bournemouth was a complete smash and grab and our remarkable win against Southampton should have been far easier than we made it. The way we are playing at the moment is allowing the opposition easy access to score. When our goals dry up a little, which is likely, we will still be leaking like a sieve at the back. He's doing absolutely nothing to try and change that.l and that was relegation lies.

Like I say, losing against Ipswich, regardless of where we may sit in the league post match, would be a complete **** up. They're a dreadful side and one we should be putting away.

I agree. They are much better than their position suggests. They had a ludicrous run of fixtures from the beginning of the season.

Just leaving this here:
He and his team have done an appalling job in the transfer market and I know that you'll say he isn't responsible for that but he absolutely will have had much more of a say than people think in bringing in players

They're a dreadful side and one we should be putting away.
We weren't able to last season, so not sure why it's a team we should be putting away this season.

Just leaving this here:
I said more. More than none. Which is what some ****ing clowns are capable of thinking. How much, I don't know but then, I haven't said I do.

If you're going to continuously try to play one-upmanship with every single post I make then you need to get much, much better at it.

We should have done. We had a few piss poor results last season but they didn't matter as much because they were offset.

Watching them this season, they look disjointed, poor in possession and their confidence is at rock bottom and they currently have a GD of -11.

Like I say, we should put them away easily.
