So it's basically your opinion, which some ( including me ) might disagree with. Fair enough, if everyone shared the same opinions it would be a boring old world. However your assertations are not facts.

I think it's an acknowledged fact that the current board don't have the financial capacity to move the club forward.

I think it's an acknowledged fact that the club has been bobbling about in the bottom half of the second tier division for a considerable time now....with no obvious sign of the necessary fire power to make an impact on the division.

I also think it's a fact that the club, in spite of everything, has considerable potential because of its sizeable and relatively loyal fan base.

It could also be taken as a fact that we have always been a yo-yo club, and that we do not have the fan base or attraction for big sponsors for us to compete long term in the higher division ( be that the old first division or the premiership ). What I do not want is for us to be saddled with debt that could eventaully bankrupt the club.

RS, I basically agree with you on this, but what differs now from our pre-2000 history is our Prem-class stadium, which could certainly be seen as attractive - especially as we pretty much filled it last time we were in the Prem, more than established members like Blackburn and Boro can manage. Also, a third of the Prem at any one time is made up of clubs who on paper are 'smaller' than us. So I can see how things might happen. But when you say - "What I do not want is for us to be saddled with debt that could eventaully bankrupt the club" - you are spot on. All bids or putative bids need to be properly examined, and premature cheerleading for Mandaric or any other speculator is not overly helpful. IMHO.

Its not about cheerleading for Mandaric or anyone else - I wouldn't be able to call whether or not it is a decent bid. It's about starting from the premise that the club is slowly declining under the present regime and recognising that things need to change.

RS talks about LCFC being historically a 'yo yo club' and that is largely true - however at the rate the club is going we will be yo yoing amongst the lower divisions.

All true RF which is why the board are looking for someone to take it off their hands.

Indeed - the current chairman was brought in specifically to find some way of moving the club forward. he & the board have said several times that the current structure has served its pupose and cannot take the club forward.

They have been talking with a number of parties over the last few months to find someone who can take the club forward. So I can't understand why several people keep asserting that tyhey are hell-bent on scuppering any change.

I don't necessarily agree with everything they have ever done while in charge, but as far as I can see they are doing the right thing on this.

Have to agree with that OG.

Indeed. Ronald McD has gone on record on this and, as far as I can see, delivered in garnering interest in the club. My feeling is that on the table there will be two, perhaps more, very different visions of how the club can be taken forward with very different levels of risk attached.

Good points. I think its as obvious as it could be that to give this dear old club a chance of becoming competitive again that there has to be a new regime... it needs football people with some resources and of course its right that there should be a proper due diligence to ensure that the best way forward is found.

The reason why I have asserted that there will be some significant shareholders who will want to scupper it is because in real life there always are. Now, i have had a few pops at the FT... and I'm sure that some people will think that this is equivalent to being cruel to polar bears or giant pandas! But its not like that.....I have a view that people like the FT are so concerned about a pseudo democratic influence that they are more interested in process than substance. I couldnt care less about process only Leicester City winning football matches and if that means that the club is run on more dictatorial and less participative ways in involving supporters representatives...so be it.
