Based upon no inside information at all, I wonder if what is going on at City is not a lack of funds for some team improvement, but rather a disagreement between Milan and NP as to where the funds should go. NP wants players that he thinks will help the team whilst Milan wants names.

That huge leap in thought ignores what we do actually know about this - and that is that Nigel Pearson has been quoted as saying that he is not interested in signing anybody who is not 100% committed to joining the club.

The one precedent with Milan seems to contradict this. Milan and Martin Allen both wanted Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Terms has been agreed and Hasselbaink had been photographed with the shirt. Then Martin Allen changed his mind having already signed the "awesome" Carl Cort. On that occasion it was Martin Allen's judgement that prevailed. It was not the only time in which Martin Allen's judgement was questionable.

I read on here that Birmingham FC wanted a fee for Taylor, and that we wouldn't pay anything. Now Watford have signed him on a free and they have just avoided administration.
I am not bothered that he did not sign for us, he seems to be injury prone, but how a club that is skint can afford him is bewildering.
