I guess I was playing devils advocate to a certain degree. What I find strange is that these 2 players were slagged off left right and centre and then when they leave its the worst thing in the world.

Think about it, Durham. It might not be the ones who were slagging him off who are now saying they are sorry to see him go.

The people who are unhappy in any situation are the ones who are most likely to make their feelings known. While he was here we heard most from those who wanted him gone, now he's gone his supporters have most to say.

I can only imagine this has been done to create some money - either to pay for the new manager, or because we're bringing someone in on loan.

Or perhaps it's blind panic and we're jettissoning our top earners in anticipation of a big drop in our ability to pay them. Dublin one day - MdV the next - it can't just be coincidence.
