The 'I believe in Miracles' man looked a happy soul.

made me laugh he was sat there looking pretty tired shaking his head not quite believing what he had seen :098:

He was a man-mountain last night, just like he was at Charlton last year, more suited to the Premiership me thinks?

He was totally excellent last night and certainly looks more suited to the challenge of playing a Premiership team, lets hope we get another one (at home) in the next round!

Listen....MDV was up against a defence that was worth millions, he cost us just 50K. The bloke ran his socks off, never gave up. IMO he didn't look out of place in that game, he did what he was told to do, and he did it brilliantly..................:038: :038: :038: :038:

As did the rest of the team....:038: :038: :038: :038:

And if nothing else over his LCFC career he's justified his transfer fee in one game. I said months ago the guy is better than most people think and I stand by that. He's limited but does certain things very well.

As CL has said, credit has to go to the ref (God did I just say that:icon_eek: ) who I felt had a great game last night, he let the game be played as it should be, non of the 'netball' reffing we get in the fizzy. MDV/Gardner and Dawson were allowed to play against each other and battle, a bit more of that in the league and MDV may look a different player.

I thought MDV had a great game, I thought the ref had a decent game but I think he only gave MDV one decision all night!! Dawson and Gardener were all over him because they couldnt handle his strength!

Don't get me wrong I'm not a MdV hater and thought he had a good game, he held the ball up very well and his flick ons were excellent, consistently finding the intended target. Like you say he worked his socks off. These things he did very well. But he did blaze the ball well over the bar on one occasion and missed the target on two others. I think him giving the ball away was the start of their second goal. Could be wrong on that though.

What he also did consistently was look like he had no control of the ball when running towards goal, especially in the area. Think this was picked up on post match commentary. When he has time on the ball and needs to take 3-4 touches he doesn't look great to me. Thats all I am saying. IMO he did what he was told to do very well and took his goal very well, well done big MdV 7 or 8 out of 10. I don't think he is a Premiership player though. Gardner and Kelly were only in there because King and Lee are injured.
