Thats not the case - I'm just not giddy with excitement over these lupe warm signings.

Seems anyone who doesn't agree with Milan on here should grab their tin hats.:icon_roll:icon_roll

I think it's important that Milan should not be above objective criticism.

Until today - when I think an excellent signing has been made - there was nothing to get excited about re. new signings.

The Mercury undoubtedly misled people by even mentioning £25m - but let's face it no intelligent person should take anything reported entirely seriously when it comes to numbers and football . We have been reading re. Leicester City in the Mercury OTT nonsense now for about 25 years(?) all with a totally sychophantic approach that represents the very worst of local media sports reporting. Unfortunately, this approach meant that once it had been decided to back Milan - there was little attention given to a sensible debate in contrast to what was an excellent dialogue in this forum

Milan got Leicester City on the ultra cheap - and he has got a command of public and press relations which is in a different class to the feeble board which preceeded him. But that doesn't mean that we have to agree with everything pumped out from the Walkers.

Let's look on the positive side and say that with the right management and careful spending (Wages + fees) we can challenge in this division. MM's objective is to get us promoted. Every city fan should realise that spending silly money is high risk. The signings have hardly got me camping outside the ground for the first home game but did anyone seriously think that MM was about to spend £M's? We should give MM and Allen a go. Take a look back into the abyss of 6 months ago.

The biggest worry for me is Allen and whether he can get the bigger name players to respond to his style of management.

Some people will have belived that the £25million figure is correct, those who don't have the internet or don't read these forums will not know that it was a load of BS.

However the Mockery was quite clearly a mouthpeice for Milan.

IM not 'against the machine' and if you look back at my posting history I've always been less than happy with Milan and his take over. However I am more than willing change my view if I see him actually investing in the club and not just trying to string everyone along.

For example look at this interview on LCFC world. He is harping on about how free transfers arnm't really free cos you have to pay agents etc... well they are still many many times Cheaper than buying players Milan, but of course you wouldn't ever admit to that.

You are great Fox Fan, you never let us down with your points of view :icon_roll

If the people that beleive the 25 million spin as you say do not have internet or read forums then why are you arguing the toss with people that do? and if you believe we would be making the same signings as we are now without Milan then the previous boards spin took you in as we did not have two coins to rub together.
If you think MM would be spending big then again you are a victim of your own arguement.

It is not only MM's money that has/will save this club, it is the business man. If his 'free' signings bring success who gives a flying...... He has taken this club by the scruff of the neck given it a shake so some of the sh*t falls out and has made the changes that will give our club the kick up the arse it needs. Whether MA and his team are the ones to bring success on the field we will not know until the season starts.
What I do know is MM has got enough money to put us in with a shout.

I think the signings overall have been fair, it is not only about ability but a willing to play for the club and the old crop would/will be very hard to drag back up.

My point was this was a lie from MM's people to make sure he got the support of the fans, and to tell people that MM had big money to spend.

What I do know is MM has got enough money to put us in with a shout. Does he though? Anyone actaully know how much MM is worth? I don't. Futhermore don't forget the way that he funded Pompy was through loans to the club, so if we don't go up within 3 years and MM decides to feck off then what?

I think the signings overall have been fair, it is not only about ability but a willing to play for the club and the old crop would/will be very hard to drag back up. I don't think we will really know if any of these signings have worked until at least 10 games in. At this point it is speculation as to their fitness/desire/ability. I hope they do work out and we get automatic promotion.

The takeover agreement included £4.5million this summer, the same next summer. We were running at a loss, so some of that will cover last seasons defecit. add compensation for the old staff, and the news staff (to the clubs) and our figure to spend on players (including wages) is going to be less than that.

Of course some money will be generated by the club (season tickets, sponsors, expected income etc) but since we ran at a loss before, that wouldn't give us much room to play with on its own.

Some people seem to think that 'free' players signing on means that Milan is not spending money. There will probably be a signing on fee + agents fee and wages. Some of the new players will almost certainly be on much higher wages than last years crew. If the rumours about Lee Hendrie are correct, he will cost us £1 million a year even if he were to sign for 'free'!

MM has written to the clubs we play in pre season fixtures requesting 50% of gate receipts. Even Quorn. This is not the done thing in pre season circles.

Can't decide whether this makes him the tightest git in the Universe or an astute businessman.

He's never minded paying big wages for the right player. However, getting him to open his wallet to pay out transfer fees have always been like wrenching his eyes out of their sockets.

Can see him paying Hendrie £20k a week. Can't see him paying out seven figure transfer fees. Maybe one for impact value but he won't like it.

I don't know where you get the idea that this is not the done thing. It's pretty standard for clubs hosting pre-season friendlies to pay the visitors, sometimes by paying a proportion of the gate receipts, sometimes a fixed fee, sometimes by paying 'expenses' - and sometimes by paying the costs of the visiting clubs nearby training camp.
