Milan Mandaric feels it is vital his takeover of Leicester City is completed in the coming days.
The Serbian businessman has spent over two months trying to push through a £25million deal for the Championship club.
Due diligence has been completed and Mandaric revealed there are just a couple of hitches to resolve before he can assume control at The Walkers Stadium.
"I expect it to be done very soon," Mandaric told Sky Sports News. "Due diligence is finished.
"There are a couple of obstacles we have to overcome, nothing serious I hope.
"I expect it to be done in the next several days, it's just some major commercial stuff I need to overcome and I think that will be done."
But with just a fortnight to the close of the transfer window, the former Portsmouth chairman has outlined the importance of sealing his takeover imminently.
He added: "I wanted to be there a long time ago. Time is of the essence.
"January is going, but we have got to do some business in January,
if I am going to be part of this club."
Mandaric also revealed the extent of The Foxes' current debt is greater than he had initially expected.
"It's not something people didn't tell me the truth about, it was just something I was surprised about," continued Mandaric.
"It was a bigger debt than I realised in the beginning and we need a little more time to analyse and to find out, and to find a way how to live with that."
Is that meant to be some kinda threat??
