But do you not agree that creating a specified standing area causes less problems than people standing in seated areas, for both parties?

I know people should not stand, but it happens and i know which option i think to be the safer of the two.

I find it natural for me to stand during a game of football, where my excitement levels are high, and im very into what is happening on the pitch, i would love a specified standing area so that i can do it without infringing the on ohter peoples enjoyment of the game.

I stand when my excitement levels are high. The people in front of me stand when their excitement level is high - I have no difficulty with this and it is allowed for within the rules that govern admission to football grounds. I don't think this is enough reason to reintroduce standing at games.

Have you ever noticed that it is the areas where people stand that need the most supervision by stewards and police? This is not simply because of the standing. It is because the area contains people who are being unruly in all kinds of different ways - the standing is only part of it - and the part which most prevents the stewards and the police identifying and dealing with the unruliness.
