Speculation Motown's hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded Summer 2016 rumours thread

Did you work in an industry where other companies were willing to pay you a shit load of money, despite your relative lack of experience?

Hmmm! That would be tantamount to blackmail though. 'Pay me 5 times what I am currently worth, or I will move to someone with more money than sense and abandon the loving, caring, supportive family I have with you'.

The Metro is reporting he has turned down £18,000 a week.

He obviously thinks he is worth a lot more, despite never having played in the Premier League!

So another unproven 18 year old kid with potential, who does not think he has to learn his craft and and put in the hard yards before he can buy his first Bentley!

Walsh and Ranieri would be best to cash in for the best price and move him on. Obviously does not fit the team ethos profile with his attitude.

Interesting, we've certainly been there before and it really backfired on the player that time. It's all just rumours but if that's the case then it's a shame but we'd probably be better off letting him go.. £3m seems low for a young English left back with potential though.

What makes him so sure he's going to get into liverpool's first team?

How does he expect to instantly be first choice at Leicester at the age of 18 against Fuchs - an integral member of our Premier League winning team, who happens to be captain of his country, with Champions League experience? Perhaps this is his reasoning....but he will get more time next season and depending on progress will perhaps make the position his own by the end of it.

To be honest...if he doesn't want to be a fox....he can piss off!!!

Wow people are having very strong reactions to something that could easily be made up.

Why so quick to write Chilwell off?

Hope he stays. He's had a lot of hype and media attention despite not playing, sure this is just his agent trying to get him a better deal

Something is wrong when a talented, local academy prospect who is progressing well is allowed to leave for a rival club.

Remember Joe Mattock?

He's either got a bad attitude, bad advisors, an over-inflated idea of himself, or some combination of these.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool are notoriously poor clubs to develop your potential at. Their failure rate far exceeds successes.

He is at a club that maximises its players talent.

Something stinks. No sensible person would take such a risk for what is (in relative terms) peanuts money.
Why do you rate us so highly for developing potential?

Why do people follow this crap. Chilwell is not going anywhere its the same re-hashed rumours from January. We can add on Vardy, Mahrez, Drinkwater, Schmiechel, Kante etc etc. It's pure Bollocks or Bolox which ever you prefer. Kante has a 25 million buy out clause, where's the proof, only his agent, (who would of course have nothing to gain from such a transfer fee), Kante himself and the club know the details of his contract. It's the same with Chilwell, somebody has come up with a story that he's turned down 18 grand a week and Liverpool are favourites to sign him. It will be at least another season before Liverpool can qualify for the Champions League and the state they are in there are no guarantees that will happen, so it could be two or three years or maybe never doesn't seem like an exciting prospect to me or to a very ambitious footballer. Given City's success this season there will be alarm bells ringing in the highest echelons of English football, other 'small' clubs might also have ideas above their station and with new money available they can also look to breaking the stranglehold of the so called 'top clubs'. We have done it, I hope others follow in our footsteps, or maybe a couple of steps behind us again.

So if Chillwell wants to be here and has not turned down a new contract, why does he not say so, unless he and his agent want to start a bidding war out greed.

He has been offered almost £1million a year. How much more does an 18 year old, unproven in the Premier League, player need for ****s sake?

... and Goal .com report that he has already told City he wants to leave to go to Liverpool.

Why would he want to do that? Apart from more money than he would know what to do with, what can Liverpool offer him that would be better than being here?

Medical and Sports Science facilities? No. Champions League football? No. Great team? No - lost 10 games and conceded 50 goals. Resilience? No - they throw away a lead to lose 3-1.

He could also look at Fuchs and Jeff and think he hasn't got much of a chance of first team football here. If he wants to go let him go. There will always be someone else who can come in and do the job

His loss if he goes!

He sounds a great prospect but he can't realistically expect to be guaranteed regular first team football at the PL Champions when he's barely played any first team football here at all. Especially when Fuchs had to be extremely close to getting in the team of the year!

Seems like he is being poorly advised as he'll be playing here next season with all the games we will have, but no way can he expect to waltz in just like that and be a regular without proving himself first.

Schlupp has only been playing further forward recently so I'd have thought Ben would be first choice back up next year and he shouldn't be expecting anything more than that in his position.

He could play 5-10 games as a squad player here or play 30+ for Liverpool...wouldn't blame him whatever he decides to do.

I heard Chilwell doesn't even like pizza. What kind of ****ed up player refuses to eat Claudio's pizza? He'd probably push it in Ranieri's face. Get the **** out of the club, Chilwell, and take your ****ing sought-after skills with you. Wanker.

Bit by bit we can drag this club back to Division 3.

Boo everything, booooooo.
