Speculation Motown's hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded Summer 2017 rumours thread

Yeah I think he has a point. I don't like Spurs, but you've got to admire their set up. Investing in English talent and one of the few larger clubs that is prepared to give that young English talent a go at the top end of the football pyramid. Well run club...

The son of my brothers next door neighbour was in the academy there. He broke his leg a couple of years ago and Pochettino turned up at his house a couple of time to see how he was doing while he recovered.

Spurs are now a spent force.

The release of the article is not coincidental. They have come close to winning the league for the last two seasons - alas they are at best bridesmaids.

This season coming was perhaps their final opportunity to push on to win but to do this they need probably two exceptional players. The chairman doesn't want to spend the cash (rightly or wrongly) and has used the market forces as an excuse not to invest.

This, allied with the Wembley factor will result in mid table mediocrity for them in my opinion.

After this coming season their squad will split up.

Tbh if it wasn't for the Wembley factor then I'd expect Spurs to be right up there again this year as they don't need massive investment.

Levy is bang on with what he says and as much as I still hate them for making me cry at Wembley ~15yrs ago, I'd rather see a team ran like that win the league than the mancs or Chelsea.

If we were really interested in Lucas Perez when Arsenal signed him, you'd anticipate that he might well make a good bargaining chip with Mahrez involved too. Just sayin'

Spurs bought Sissoko for £30m. He has no right at all to bang on about stupid fees. I would agree if they didn't spunk away a fortune on shite.
The obvious shit buy example. We spent the same(ish) amount on Slimani. I'm not comparing the two as players, just pointing out that we spent a similar amount on one player.

Agreed, they use whatever media is available to substantiate their failure.

They are the Newcastle of London.

Levy wasn't complaining when Spurs received nearly 50m for a player this summer. He's a complete hypocrite. If their owner, who has an estimated wealth of over 5 billion US dollars gave them 200m to spend with no condition to recoup it, they'd be spending it like it was confetti too. And guess what, in Man City's case, when your owner is one of the richest men in the UAE, perhaps it absolutely is sustainable. Same goes for Abramovich and Chelsea.

Poor Spurs, (potentially) knocked out of the top 4 by the big bullies with more money. My heart bleeds.

For clubs like Man City or Chelsea, I find it hard to believe then can spend an extra £200million+ on players each season + additional wages and pretend that it all comes out of revenue to sit within FFP.

Some of the costs/wages probably will be going offshore and being hidden where FIFA cannot see them, or is not looking for them!

It's all gone very quiet.

For saying how close the Kalechi deal was it's dragging on.

One site yesterday said he's having a medical on Friday.
Was that the nigerian site? Didn't they more or less base that on quotes from Top's interview from last week? Something in the line of "a medical can be held as soon as within next friday".
