Think we'll be playing a midfield 3 more often next season (or 4 with the Kante twins) so the added depth in midfield makes sense.

Midfield of Kante, Mendy and Drinky with Mahrez, Vardy and Musa up front

Not sure why your first thing to do would be drop Albrighton who was extremely good this season. Why change anything!!

It's going to be more about different options next season what with Champions League, Premier League, League Cup, F A Cup fronts to fight on.
Also there will be demands on the International front as more and more of our players go off on International duty during the season, running the risk of them getting injured.
We were lucky with injuries last season, although we obviously have a great set up for dealing with injuries, and suspensions, there is the greater risk of suspension as the stakes get higher, no one will take us lightly next season. There may be occasions when a player takes one for the team.

Claudio knows what he's doing (he's not Woy thank goodness) and will need all the options available to him. Hopefully he learnt from his Chelsea experience and he'll know that emulating last season will be very difficult and he'll be doing his level best to make it the best he can.

Let's face it this season is going to be interesting, hopefully successful too. :)

We avoided injuries; I doubt if luck played any part of it. It was a major part of our success.

My point was that we are unlikely to have such an injury free season as last season. Therefore we need more options, and with more games being played we will not be covered by the same number of players as last season.
We need the right players and hopefully the new ones coming in will quickly get on board with our team ethos.

I'd love to know what brings you to that conclusion. If it's not just a matter of luck and the practices that were in place last season prevail in the new one, I can see no reason why we should suddenly pick up more injuries. I do agree though that we need a stronger squad to face the new season; more games and higher expectations - and perhaps a serious challenge in the domestic knock-out competitions.

We will also lose a few players to the Arican cup of Nations in January and February

another plus about signing Musa (ie not going ACON

I don't think he has finished the sentence yet.

I think the sentence is complete. dpj is recognising the fact that Nigeria have not qualified for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. The same may not apply in following seasons though.

It was more for the benefit of the system than anything against Albrighton.

Musa is faster and more of a goal threat to play in a front 3 in games when we want more in midfield.

In games where we play 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 then Albrighton would still get in - but I'm sure we'll see more rotation and more different systems this year

After the midfielder joined the Club on Sunday, latest signing Nampalys Mendy described joining Premier League champions Leicester City as a dream come true.
Having been an ever-present to help Nice to a fourth-placed finish in Ligue 1 last term, the powerful midfielder made the switch to King Power Stadium for an undisclosed fee.
The prospect of potentially playing in both the Premier League and the Champions League for the first time is huge for Mendy.
And after meeting a number of his new team-mates during his first training session on Monday, he can’t wait to get working under Claudio Ranieri for the second time in his career, having already done so at Monaco.

“I feel good,” Mendy told Foxes Player HD. “It’s my first day and I feel very happy. Claudio [Ranieri] is a very good coach – I like his strong mentality and how the team plays together.
“I’m excited to play in the Premier League because it’s my first season in it. I came from France and today I’m at a Premier League club – it’s my dream.
“The Champions League also – I’ve never played in the Champions League so it’ll be my first time and I’m very excited and I believe in the team.
“The Premier League is physically stronger and it’s faster and in Ligue 1, it’s more about tactics and technique, so it’s very different. I like to always fight and I play for the team. I play with my head also.”

While eager to take to the King Power Stadium turf for the Foxes, Mendy is thinking only about the exciting pre-season schedule that the Foxes have ahead of them.
First taking on Oxford United, City then face Celtic in Glasgow, Paris-Saint Germain in Los Angeles and Barcelona in Stockholm in the International Champions Cup.
He added: “I’m very excited for pre season because there are some big games against big teams and I want to see how I play with my new team-mates.
“The facilities are good and the stadium is very good. I like the stadium – it’s big and it’s different to stadiums in France – the supporters are close to the pitch.”
