Of course there was a lot of anti-Warnock sentiment about. Opinion here was about 2-1 against, and on other boards (notably the old Fox site) it was far more outspoken - plus the mockery message board, RL and heaven knows where else. So if he wanted to be Mr popular, maybe he did take account of all that
But, of course, don't forget Warnock's statement that he had a look and decided he wouldn't touch the job with a barge pole. Maybe on the same grounds? Or because he likes to be his own boss?
Who knows - but Jeff is right - there were other options available.
Apart from the John Gregory affair and the renaming of the Kop, you mean?Interesting how MM hasnt listened to the fans since! :icon_roll:icon_roll

Warnock's "credentials" have been way overstated IMO. He'd been a manager for about a million years but had just, for the first time ever, got to the Prem, where he royally fecked it up. The idea that he was some sort of managerial messiah was, and still is, total bullshit. I didn't want him them and I'm glad we've not got him now. Twat.

Compared to what his acheivements actually are!Compared to whom?

I don't know of one person who said they hated him because of his ginger hair, although if people keep saying he was hated for being ginger it will probably eventually be accepted as fact when it's a load of bollocks.
Can someone please explain why people did dislike Megson because I have never understood.
I remember that most people who had a go at Megson mentioned his ginger hair as a negative.
Because he played dull negative football, and had been doing it unsuccessfully for a few years before a long spell being jobless. Not the best CV.
When he was at Leicester we got worse the longer he was here, our worst performances of the season were under him.
He took a long time and spent a lot of money (much of it wasted) to get Sheff Utd promoted, and their fans had been on his back for years.
I doubt Warnock would have put up with MM's meddling for long, so he could have gone the same way as Martin Allen.
For me Milan relegated us last season without a shadow of a doubt. He got lucky twice in his entire time as Pompy chairman. Once by appointing Rednapp, and twice by reappointing him having fecking him off and screwing up the club!

History will judge Milan as the worst thing to happen to Leicester City, even if it can't be seen now.
