Right.... That's that done. Time to start doing something meaningful with my life. Like pilking up Sudoku or something.

Can Ian Stinger be Niall Quinn please? That would be fun.

It seems like a positive appointment. He's effectively an upgrade on AY by about 15 years.

He may be inhibited by the fact that he was employed by NP and was part of the coaching team only a few seasons back. It will remain to be seen if he calls it as he sees it, which is what I'd be looking for. As soon as I hear him slaughter our defending at Stamford Bridge, I'll approve of him.

There are always those who moan, even after a 1-0 win.

That's the majority of people. Niall Quinn is David Gwilliam, Matt Elliott is Jeff and Gerry Taggart is... well, it could turn out to be Gerry Taggart

You are right. I am just the kind of person who would grab Gerry Taggart by the throat. No problem.

A sensible post marred by a strange sentence. This suggests that inexperience is a virtue. In fact Gerry Taggart has experience. Gerry has helped run teams under the short lived reigns of Gary Megson and Frank Burrows then for longer spells with Ian Holloway, Nigel Pearson and Paul Dickov. He may be young (no pun intended) but he will know football in a way that pundits like Lee Dixon and Robbie Savage do not.

As Brown Nose in the wise part of his post suggests Gerry is close to the club. When he talked at a Leicester Legends evening it was during the reign of Sven so he had no reason to praise the current regime., In fact he spoke highly of Nigel. He particularly singled out Steve Walsh Sr as having "an awesome understanding of the game" - Birch agreed. I would imagine that Gerry will have worked with Andy King and Jeff Schlupp and may make excuses for his "former students."

Whatever the rights and wrongs of the Alan Young controversy they are now over; except that I hope someone will make it clear to Jane Hill that if you are going to sack somebody it is simple integrity to do it face to face.

:icon_lol: One day you'll try to take your tongue out of your cheek and find it's stuck there.

No. I read that sentence to mean that Taggart is better acquainted with the modern game than Young. He played far more recently and has coached in a professional environment very recently, which is something Alan Young has never done. I think BN was being a little too conservative, if anything, by saying only 15 years. Football in this country simply isn't the same thing it was when Alan Young last played some 25+ years ago.

I can now reveal SuperScout's official list. This was sent to Radio Leicester after the removal of Alan Young:

01. Rusty Lee
02. Eddie the Eagle
03. Mark Morrison
04. Gok Wan(g)
05. Alan Young
06. The CEO of Office Depot
07. Any of the living descendants of Richard III
08. Roy Cropper
09. Richard and\or David Attenborough
10. Dusty Bin

Unfortunately, the station decided to go in a different direction.

Are you able to reveal whether SuperScout's official list, written in pencil on real paper, was read by anybody at the BBC or did it go straight in the bin?
