He's had a good career - more than 600 league appearances now, which I find jarring as I still think of him as the fresh faced 20 year old who joined us in League One

Hurrah for Congerton. I feared us signing him permanently and no doubt he'd join the list of 'not good enoughs' we'd be trying to offload within a year. He was an okay loan last year, but he's nothing special.

I posted something sarcastic about Congerton above but it prompted me to think about him further.

His role is not only recruitment but also negotiating departures. For him to have clearly done absolutely feck all in preparation for this summer is astonishing.

I hope we realised that he's incompetent and so chose to rip up his work when he left. If he just didn't do anything, he should have been sacked and not quietly allowed to move on.

What a horrific appointment this charlatan was.
