What the feck actually happened to James Maddison?

Stinking the place out tonight
 
Ayoze Perez has scored the only goal of the game for Spain against the mighty Andorra.
 
Perez was excellent in that game.

I made no secret of the fact I thought he was a very good option for us; when managers weren't ****ing about playing him on the wing for 8 minutes every three games or so, that is.
 
Didn't Southgate say something the other day about him being fed up with players lying to him about their recovery from injury so they could make the squad for tournaments. Looks like the World Cup shenanigans has caught up with Maddison.

I have nothing against Maddison, other than the obvious lack of respect for anyone that goes to Spurs. But I'm grateful of his time here.

But this is embarrassing for him. The squad doesn't have to be cut for a couple of days.

This feels personal. Southgate has never liked him. Took him in the last squad only due to the amount of public pressure. But booting him out now, feels like Maddison has pissed him off and Southgate wants everyone to know it.

I'd imagine that's the last of Maddison under Southgate - although that may only be until the end of this tournament anyway.
