And people wanted him to be our boss at one stage

And people wanted him to be our boss at one stage

It easy to make a comment like that, but what we have at the moment isn't about a single person, it's about the whole club pulling in the same direction. Even the best managers will find it hard to deliver if they have an unstable club (which most championship clubs do), which is why we see so few championship managers getting the opportunity to manage at a higher level.

For me, there are probably lots of good managers in the Championship that have either been at a club where things were never going to work out or have been fired by trigger happy owners before having the chance to change things as they saw necessary. Our own experience with NP, who many wanted gone after the Watford play off match, should show us that you can't prove you're a good manager in a single season.

Personally, I do think Chris Powell has the potential to be a good manager, but he needs to pick his next move very carefully.

The people running and following Huddersfield seem to have a very peculiar view of where their club should lay in the firmament. It's not the 1920s any more and it's no crime of Chris Powell's to not be the second coming of Herbert Chapman.

Hope he doesn't go to QPR but don't think he'll want to with their fool of an owner who is more the problem than any of the managers they have had.

Same with Forest but at least QPR have had a couple of promotions instead of finishing 7th, once!

From the Beeb gossip page

Former England manager Peter Taylor has been sacked by Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. The 62-year-old was in charge of Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters, co-owned by Tendulkar

Obviously I ****ed it up and put this in the wrong thread. But wait a few years and all of them will be ex-players, so I'll be right eventually.

But if a mod will move it to the right thread, I'll be happy with that too.
