We never found out, didn't give him enough of a chance.

Left back.... in the changing room, as a bloke I once knew used to say, and then give a chuckle. He liked that one. He did the post at my first job, supported Oldham. We used to have football chats as we franked envelopes. I remembering him referring to Larry May as "the yard dog"... no idea why and I didn't ask. He was a lovely bloke. Thanks for jogging those memories :)

Edit: just found this

Mike Milligan, John Kelly & Nick Henry - After a win over local rivals Manchester City at Maine Rd 1987/88 former Latics manager Jimmy Frizzell & City Director of football wasn't happy & referred to the Latics midfield of Milligan & Henry as "snapping yard dogs". It was meant as a derogatory term but Latics fans embraced this new term as their own once Kelly left the club the following season Nick Henry & Miligan formed a famous midfield partnership forever known as the yard dogs not only snapping at heels but playing great football during the clubs most successful period.

Thing is, my conversation relates back to the late 70s, maybe 1980 at the latest. So I suspect the above was on the back off an already existing usage of the expression.

I don't think she actually exists. That's just a computer generated image like the ones you see with big tits and massive dicks on redtube.
