New ex-players (and managers) thread

Without wishing to get insanely off topic, the bit you're missing there is the access to the top jobs that is provided to the current 1m citizens of Birmingham and the extra 1m in the surrounding region.

There are virtually no major headquartered companies in Birmingham - yes there's a hollowed out Cadbury, notionally a HSBC head office (mostly empty) and a BBC digbeth development due in a decade or so. Which means the city loses its ambitious youth to London, where they pay ridiculous rents for tiny spaces.

In theory it's not about people moving out (which in my opinion will be limited), it's more about opening opportunities to people already in the city.

HOWEVER - if it doesn't run into central London as it sounds like it now may not, and if it costs a fortune (which it in inevitably will) then it'll fail at that ambition.
All true. But thats more of a side effect. The influx from London will far outweigh the opportunities for Brummies to take up London jobs. The London & Home Counties exodus will be people who already have London jobs & the financial means to relocate thanks to selling their overpriced properties, especially if they get in early. & of course they are already in possesion of the inflated London salaries, a further advantage. What you say will definitely happen in some proportion but it'll still be much more in the other direction.

The Brummies who will benefit most will be the ones who own property close to the transport networks. They'll be quids in.
As usual those that already have will get more, those starting out will get less opportunity. The way of the world.

Sorry, what do they mean by immortality?
Standard Scottish delusion.

They think that winning one of the weakest leagues in Europe constantly & a double or treble every couple of years whilst being massively better resourced than any other club, & having only one realistic rival from now until the end of days is some sort of achievement.

It's always 1967 in the mind of a Celtic fan.

Probably confusing him with Highlander or something. A diet of chips and heroin might be the cause.
Whatever happened to @highland_fox?

Chris Davies appointed senior assistant at Spurs.

(Assistant what?)
What an agent this guy must have.

Just overseen one of the most tactically inept seasons in PL history during which players were consistently knackered before kick off and so devoid of ideas that we spent most of the game passing it between centre backs whilst desperately needing to score.

Great hire Spurs :023:

Sounds right for them

Dean Smith is being linked with the vacant Sheff Weds job... And their fans aren't happy about it either.
