New iPod....

I am going to buy a new iPod, what I need to know is how do I get all my stuff off the old iPod and get it onto the new one?

The twat at PC World said it could not be done. There must be a way as I dont want to spend days loading everything up again.

I had acquired a new Ipod about 6 months or so ago. It's the most ridiculous gadget/toy/music player I've ever seen:

* You charge the bloody thing for hours and it crashes
* You link it to your PC and there is no folder in the My Computer bit
* You can't transfer the files you have on your computer
* I tunes is crap and it automatically deletes songs off your I-Pod unless its on I-Tunes.
* You listen to the fecker and you don't know how to switch it on/off

It was the worst experience I've ever had with a music player. Its well over-rated and over-priced, whats wrong with a 1GB MP3 player; wack a small battery in, get it plugged in via USB to your computer/laptop transfer the files and bang your away.

Ipod- Rating 0.5 / 10 (the 0.5 was the nice white earphones I had with them)

Apologies if this software is illegal Jeff, I don't see how it can be but please remove if it is so.

Basically this will let you grab all the music, podcasts, images and video from an ipod and back it up to a PC. I doubt it will work with DRM purchases songs, but if you have them in your itunes it shouldn't matter.

Also I haven't bothered syncing my ipod with any machine as apparantly it prevents you manually managing it on another.

You can't. Ipod are to blame for that; by creating I-Tunes to try and create more revenue from people who think; having an Ipod is the in thing to have as if its cool and fashionable.

The on/off facility didn't always work. Most likely a manufacturing problem. Ipod are at fault for that.

IMO a bog standard MP3 player is much better and reliable then an Ipod.

You are no saint. But I do think the level of abuse you get is out of order. A lot of people are very contradictive and to an extent hypocritical.

I'm not condeming what Fludie does, however I don't think he is the only one here, as proven.. that, "robs," "steals," on the internet. It's not right to do the things he has done (IF of course he has done), but no-one has a right to Judge him when they are just as guilty as he is.

There is a big difference between downloading something illegal every day of the week and then bragging about it, than watching a football match very occasionally because it isn't worth subscribing to Setanta or Chelsea TV for one game. And besides, I'm watching something which I could nip to the pub down the road and watch for free.
