I couldn’t help thinking it looked like I was watching Birmingham City today.

Leicester City Football Club today reveals its brand-new adidas away kit, with the 2021/22 mint design set to make a debut appearance against Wycombe in pre-season before going on sale to supporters from Saturday 31 July.

Foxes fans can see the new mint away kit in action for the very first time when Brendan Rodgers’ side take on Wycombe Wanderers in their second pre-season friendly of 2021, with free coverage of the fixture available on LCFC TV from 7pm tonight (Wednesday 28 July).

What’s more, UK-based LCFC TV Live viewers of this evening’s fixture have the chance to win a 2021/22 adidas away shirt, which will be delivered to them ahead of Saturday’s launch. Viewers need simply look out for the competition question and details during the live coverage.

The striking mint design by adidas - anticipated to be an instant classic with the Foxes faithful - will be available to buy both online and at King Power Stadium’s Foxes Fanstore from 9am on Saturday.

Earlier this summer, Leicester City's communities joined forces to help model the 2021/22 adidas home kit, including first team players from the Club’s men’s and women’s teams, supporters and members of the Leicestershire community and beyond, with the same treatment given to the brand-new mint away kit.

‘This Is Leicester’ celebrates the diversity of the Leicester City family, uniting players and supporters around the world.

Shot at King Power Stadium and at LCFC Training Ground in Seagrave, the new adidas away kit in mint with navy trim features a distinctive chequered pattern alongside navy shorts and mint socks.

Priced £60 for adults and £45 for juniors, its structured fabric is made with recycled materials and moisture-absorbing adidas ‘AEROREADY’ technology to keep dry both on and off the pitch. Each shirt also features a ribbed V-neck collar and straight hem fit.

Be the first to shop the new adidas away kit at LCFC.com/shop and in the Foxes Fanstore at King Power Stadium from 9am on Saturday 31 July!

Oooh that’s a nice Cov shirt.

I am not the target for this but £60 for a one year shirt that will be worn a handful of times just puzzles me.

I suppose that if the press release tells me that we all think it's an instant classic, that's all that matters.

I mean taking aside the obvious (no it isn't), how on earth can something be an 'instant classic'?

The new away shirt looks a hell of a lot better than it did in the early leaked/mock-up versions. I quite like it. I still prefer us in a more traditional white away shirt, and I still don't really get how teams can have two different shades of the same colour as their home and away kit (but I guess that gives them more excuse for a 3rd kit), but this is quite nice.

Also, I got the new home shirt at the weekend and I like it a lot. One of the best quality shirts we've had. I'd say I'd probably still prefer it without the loud background design on the front (the back of the shirt looks nicer!) but the material, collar and sleeves are all really nice.

I just realised that, ironically, we're debuting this shirt in a game where this is an issue.

Both our home and away shirts would clash with Wycombe's home shirt, so I assume that they're going to be playing in their away kit despite being the home side.

Also there's no mention or image of the rest of the kit - only the shirt. I assume it's all 'mint'? (Looks light blue to me...)

Means we'll probably need a third kit for people to buy.

...and wear it for the first time in a game against a club that wears quartered shirts of two different shades of the very same colour.

Ah. You already thought of it.

The shorts are navy.
