One of the arguments when B teams were mentioned was about player development and players returning from injury, of course the “proper football men” threw their usual hissy fit at the concept of change so they never got to the point of how it could feasibly be done

This result has been thrown even further into an embarrassing light by Man City absolutely pumping both Rotherham and Burton. Not taking the cup seriously is no excuse not to turn over lower league sides.

Fault has to go all round. The players that were on the pitch for not showing enough quality to get through, Puel for not motivating them to do so and picking several out of form, out of fitness players and the coaching staff in the background for not drilling into the players that we should be relentless against such teams.
I do not think that it can be pinned on one or even two or three people. It’s a total failure from top to bottom.

Serfdom aside, I’m more than comfortable supporting a club that is made to look like tits once every fifteen years or so by our lower league friends, than take any pleasure in the sort of drubbing which culminated in Riyad’s 83rd minute “winner”.
