Was looking a bit more into RVN and his coaching style. I know it’s the Daily Mirror but nonetheless.

He’s also had plenty of experience around football. Working with younger players for PSV under 19s, at the World Cup with Hiddink and then Koeman and then winning two cups in Holland in one season as PSV boss. Plus he’s spent the last two seasons as Man Utd assistant.

None of this suggests he’d do well in this league as a first team boss, but at least he’s not a complete unknown.

Honestly, I’d just bribe someone at Brighton and find out who’s on their shortlist for next time. They get it right so often. And twice now, ballsy and obscure picks with De Zerbi and now this fella.

Is success at Ostersunds something to even brag about?
Oh yes! Took them from tier 4 to a 5th place in The top tier, won the cup, won three qualifying rounds to the Europa League including games against Galatasaray and PAOK, finished second in the group stage and eventually lost to Arsenal in the round of 32 (won 2-1 at The Emirates, 2-4 on aggr). More than pretty decent, I’d say.

I take his reticence as a sign of intelligence and due diligence.

He has said that he wants to make completely sure about his next role and LCFC is nothing if not a basket case of a club.
That ws clearly the issue over the summer, and what's changed?

Maybe he is reluctant because he does not not want Jannik Vestergaard to take a dump in his car as well!
What did Jannik do or say to get banned from the training ground?

He told Cooper that he didn’t think we were really that lucky to have him

Was all downhill from there

Haven't they pretty much dropped out of existence since though? Lots of financial irregularities??

Dropped down one division, and nearly another relegation this year but managed to stay up by winning the playoff.

So steadily heading back to where they were, before the questionable finances propelled them.

I just don't think he is the managerial messiah he is made out to be - did well in Sweden but would he have done that without the financial backing?

Also, whilst he did keep Brighton up, they had some horrific runs of form in his time and De Zerbi took them to a completely different level after with essentially the same team.
