From the BBC. Take it Stevie

Former Rangers and Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard, 43, is considering an offer to become coach of Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq, who are keen to land the former Liverpool captain. (Reuters)

Homer,

He has a better portfolio than other managers being quoted this is not a bad punt imo? Not too sure what value Gerard Lampard would bring to us, at least this manager has managed in the Championship although I am not too sure what style of football he likes.

He should be cheaper than BR lol.

To make life a little simpler, you can instantly ignore any links with a manager that has never previously worked at Championship level.

Our new manager will have managed there before.

I will ****ing die laughing if this turns out to not be the case.

This guy has not managed in the Championship before but he did play in it. For Stoke and WBA where he played a full season and they came 1st.

Yep, get your money on that Belgian fella from a few posts above or that manager from the Red Bull set-up with the very unfortunate sounding name.

far too left field for our lot

Put yourself in Rudkin's shoes.

If you're getting a tad warm around the collar about the job you've been doing recently, and need to make sure that you can sell the appointment to Aiyawatt and co. who do you pick?

It has been obvious for a while now that Parker is the safe appointment. If he fails, Rudkin can point to his two previous promotions and scratch his head disappointingly. If Rudkin makes a punt on a new manager or unknown from overseas, any failure will be on him.

Rudkin always looks after Rudkin. So it will be Parker if it cannot be Potter.
