Can't get a sponsor to cough up the readies, so we'll 'give the shirt back to the fans' and make the poor feckers cough up the missing readies instead for a one year kit cycle and load of old tat anniversary merchandise

They aren't excited, they're agitated. There's a difference. It's like excitement, just without any feeling of joy.
