I think my point was that Kelly and Pearson are kind of similar.
I don't think they are.

I reckon Pearson may have that agressive/passionate/driven/fiery streak about him that Kelly was sadly lacking.

Totally agree with that.

I was up at uni in boro when Pearson was playing. He's the boro Steve Walsh. Boro fans can't speak highly enough of him (even after his time at the geordies). He's a leader which I don't think Rob Kelly was.

Perhaps and I hope so because I think that was probably Kelly's ultimate limitation. They are similar in that they both know the game through have a lot of coaching experience and have never really had the chance to prove themselves in management given that their experience is with clubs who are in a bit of a mess.

hmmm Nigel Pearson you say. Not sure about this ,not sure at all. I do hope MM knows what he is doing this time. Does he wave on the fans say so? what are his shoe waving skills like? are his jokes any good? So many questions, so little time.

I am officially quite happy with this appointment. There, I said it.

Let's get behind him. (Not like that Homer)...

We would have stayed up with the points Kelly got us actually.

I may be wrong here, but I think we would only of had enough points with Rob Kelly at the very end of the season because once Leeds knew they were going to miss out on staying up, they slipped into administration, thus taking a 10 point deduction, thus looking on paper like we were safe weeks prior, and all asking ourselves what all the fuss was about!:102:

so we've hired a mackem Steve Walsh when we could have had our own Steve Walsh. Joy.

One major difference to note....Mackem Steve Walsh has his coaching badges and has managed a football team.

Why dont you start a new thread on the subject?

I don't think anyone has claimed we knew we were safe when Kelly was still here, although I did post at the time to say I thought we may have enough.
The 10 point deduction made it look more comfortable than it was, but we still didn't need the points we won under Worthington.

Didn't know to much about him and wasn't wildly excited at first although immeasurably preferable to John Gregory.

Having read the detail of Pearson's cv then I reckon he is a great appointment and absolutely the right type of person for us right now.

Rob Kelly rhymes with telly.

Bit late to the party, but...

Very pleased all the speculation is over. Normally like reading all the rumours on NewsNow, here etc., but it went on too long.

As far as the actual appointment goes... Feeling pretty upbeat about it. He always came across very well on MoTD when at Newcastle, and he seems very ambitious / enthusiastic. Interested to see what this 'management style' of his that he mentions in the press conference is all about.

In terms of tactics and style of play... no idea. Looking forward to finding out in about 8 weeks.

Pearson looks like a bloody scare bloke, he has the face to scare some of these useless ****s at the club and also look's like he doesn't take shit of any of them, i think he will do well but only time can tell.

P.S Time is only based on how long is given to Nigel and how long before Milan feels the team and players signed are not his

Quite right you are sir, Rob Kelly left with 47 points on the board, Leeds would have finished on 46 with out the 10 point deduction. And as they say, close but no cigar! So there you have it, ch4mbypants was wrong! Sorry Alex.

He'll be gone by Christmas ;)

Hopefully he is the right person for the job, and doesn't just let Milan have his way with signings.
Not overly excited about it, but it's better than Gregory I guess.

Come on Nigel, get us up!
