Obviously Ollie had a price in his mind and stuck to it.Nice to see a manager not let his heart rule his head.Lets hope Ipswich paid over the odds due to Ollies bidding.

Rafa paying £18.6mill for Mascherano is an example of a manager letting his heart rule his head.

Perhaps Ollie's Chairman ruled his head instead and told him 'no' I'm not spending that much.

DOOMED DOOMED DOOMED.

Doris was the answer. Without him, what are we? Doris-less.

What a mess. I'm going to beat myself to death.

Well I bought him on Football Manager and he was utter shite and now all the fans hate him, and me for signing him, so we got off lightly.

:)

I say fair play to IH for not giving in to there demands of £2.5m! Not sure how much longer he had on his contract but when a player hands in a transfer request that usually means he doesnt want to play for the club anymore. At that point Plymouth should be thankful for any money they get for him, not over value him by at least £1m!!

Totally agree. Holloway worked with him for a while and has a good idea of what he is worth. If he can get Oakley for £500,000, who was playing well in, and was captain of, a Premiership team then it makes sense not to pay 5 times as much for a decent championship midfielder.

We didn't bid for him once and it is clear from Milan's programme notes before the Crystal Palace game that he never had any intention of spending any more money on transfer fees before the end of the window.

Wake up and smell the coffee...

Would we really be happy at spending 5 times the amount for Norris as we have done for Matt Oakley? Nah, thought not....
