Shattered....never seen so many people leaving erthe stadium looking dejected. It was a scary atmopshere. The fickle fan near me who went into a 'you not fit..' despite for 60 minutes praising them like they were Brazil, everyone just ignored his chant, shocked, scared, shat up.

No real surprise that Worthington has criticised the players fitness levels, it has been plainly obvious since the first game debacle at Luton that this squad was ill prepared during pre season, what does peev me off is the fact that Kelly failed to see this or try to rectify it.

but in his mind he wasnt/didnt do anything wrong he obviously thought they were fit enough :102:

The worst thing about Saturday's game is that Norwich were there for the taking. Throughout the entire first half I thought we dominated and, if it wasn't against Leicester, you would pretty confidently be able to say that they never looked like scoring. By not scoring another goal in the first period I thought we allowed them to pick it up and come at us and once they started to do that, we began to crumble. Our defence was awful on pretty much every attack they threw at us and Kisnorbo was lucky to both not give a penalty away and also be sent off before they finally did score. I was furious with both Jarrett and Newton for not tracking back on the build up to both of their goals and I think it is that lack of discipline that was our downfall - probably for the entire season. I left feeling dejected and wondering where we are going to pick up any points. That game WAS a must win game and the tables and forthcoming fixtures prove that.

After Saturday I cannot see where any points are coming from, but in my gut I still feel we will win a game somewhere. However looking at the table it might not be enough, but blind optimism is a wonderful thing. :icon_eek:

As for the fitness debate, what is Horsefields excuse?

If we had been 2 or 3 goals up by 60 minutes, then Norwich cannot have complained. Hume not squaring for an easy Newton tap-in was pivotal for me.

The lack of fitness is also frightening - not something that NW can turn around in the last 4 games. We have been in a worse position before though (needing to win at home and WBA lose to stay up in the Pleat/Lee season).

Don't go often, so my ratings:

Logan 6 - did OK, but looked nervous and would not come to catch or punch if there was any pressure
Kenton 6 - did OK when he was on, but erratic with his distribution (good goal)
Kisnorbo 5 - should have been a peno before the actual one and communicationwas not good at the back (thought he was in charge of this)
McAuley 4 - his legs were gone by half time - should have been taken off well before the peno (which Taggs was right, he should have just cleared).
Nissa 4 - distribution was poor and caught out for pace
Newton 5 - Played well in patches only
Jarrett 5 - Should have gone off after his collision with Weso, he had no mobility at all from about 65 mins
Weso 7 - got better as the game went on
Porter 5 - same as Newton
Hume 5 - lots of effort, but little impact - didn't work the keeper at all
Fryatt 5 - did Ok, not sure why he went off other than fitness? Could have done better with the Stearman through ball early in the 2nd half?
Stearman 7- I thought he had a good game when he came on, which surprised me after his woefull performance against the sheep.
Horse 3 - did nothing when he came on
Mattock 5 - only 16 and looked nervous, but did OK

Defensively Niaive - often losing Huckerby (by ball watching) and getting caught out by a long ball into space. That was the only time Norwich looked dangerous in the first 70 minutes.

Horseshit is shit. That's all there is. Most people on here will fire their anger towards Stephen Hughes, who for my money is far better than Jarrett and Horseshit, who are supposed to be in to 'save us'. All a load of wank really.

If that had been so, we would have gone down - West Brom drew their game 1-1. In fact we just had to do better than WBA that day; the day started with us both on the same points but with us on a much worse goal difference.

The vital difference between then and now is that the 1991 were fighting for survival - this lot don't know what fight means.

The way City are playing at the moment, 5/1 is a very good price. Whether you think Southend's is a better price will depend how averse you are to risk. I note that you haven't disagreed that our position is gloomy.

11/2 with #####

Quite right Boc - I remember clearly now!

I thought that they fought for NW on Saturday until the legs went at the hour mark.

Its not over yet, there is a team between us and the relegation zone, we have superior goal difference and a game in hand this I think means one win will keep us safe.

Although its hard to see where the win will come from I bet there will be a surprise win out of the 4 games and that will keep us up, I cant see us getting 3 draws tho, probably 1 win a draw and 2 defeats.

I agree Nigel hasnt enough time to address the fitness issue properly but I reckon he will be able to get the team to get a 2-3 goal lead in the early stage of a game and that will get a win. He only had 2 days prior to the norwich game.

I'm inclined to agree with you - in the Cov game they put away their early chances and it was all done and dusted by the time they started to look knackered. Same in the away cup game at Fulham, but then they were up against a premiership team that managed to overtake them on the stroke of time. On Saturday they wasted 2 or 3 golden opportunities in the first half and that was that.

Would you take the 16s or 20s on offer for City to be relegated? :102: :102: ;) I would love to be holding a voucher for 1/7 large on Southend to get relegated. ;)
