Except that it is the national anthem for Great Britain, rather than England......
but the original argument started from English footballers singing it :icon_wink

Maybe they don't sing it because it's not our national anthem, and has feck all to do with England
No we won'tI cant be arsed anymore.
You fcukers will argue about anything
I cant be arsed anymore.
You fcukers will argue about anything
I have always sung "God Save Our Team"
The rest of the verses don't quite fit, but it's an adequate compromise for any self-respecting republican such as myself
You didYou started it........
You did
Don't worry Blondie, you're safe :icon_wink:icon_lol:Keep out of it, Nazi boy
No, lyrics are there to be interpreted how you like.
TBH, that's not a bad philosophy on the National Anthem and an angle I never viewed it from.
Why, what's happening tomorrow?I think you all are suffering from mental disintegration consequent to a couple of weeks with no LCFC matches.
You will be better after we have lost another match tomorrow.
Why, what's happening tomorrow?
Why, what's happening tomorrow?
Aye - the booing of our own players' names before they have even kicked a ball are the actions of sane, rational people
Infact, maybe those who are fed up to the back teeth of highly underperforming players that do not voice their displeasure are more mentally unstable than those that do.
Some would argue that the Queen is "England", as she represents the head of the country. Therefore by singing god save our queen you are actually singing god save our country. Maybe thats just me reading to much into the lyrics?
If you're going to boo them, do it after the match.
During the match players need encouragement and support, or they'll just get worse. Then when we lose it will be as much your fault as the players.
If booing them made them play better the manager would come out before the match and tell the crowd to boo as loud as they can.
Keep out of it, Nazi boy
