Except that it is the national anthem for Great Britain, rather than England......

but the original argument started from English footballers singing it :icon_wink

Maybe they don't sing it because it's not our national anthem, and has feck all to do with England :102:

Which just goes to show we should have a suitable song to sing at these occasions, just like the Scots, Welsh and presumably Norn Iron too.

And did those feet in Ancient Time...

No, lyrics are there to be interpreted how you like.

TBH, that's not a bad philosophy on the National Anthem and an angle I never viewed it from.

I think you all are suffering from mental disintegration consequent to a couple of weeks with no LCFC matches.

You will be better after we have lost another match tomorrow.

Why, what's happening tomorrow?

Aye - the booing of our own players' names before they have even kicked a ball are the actions of sane, rational people

No they are the actions of desperate, annoyed and down right pissed off people.

People who pay good money to see certain players act as though they could not give a shit. People who spend what little lesuire funds they have to see over paid work shy wankers who almost sent our team into the depths of league 1 attempt to do the job they are employed for.

If i was absolulely garbage at my job and i kept turning up day after day giving the same below par performance im sure my work colleagues would voice their displeasure at the fact i am shovelling more work onto them.

Anyone who pays money to enter a football ground has the right to their own opinion, and whether they voice that opinion or not is entirely upto them.

Infact, maybe those who are fed up to the back teeth of highly underperforming players that do not voice their displeasure are more mentally unstable than those that do.

If you're going to boo them, do it after the match.

During the match players need encouragement and support, or they'll just get worse. Then when we lose it will be as much your fault as the players.
If booing them made them play better the manager would come out before the match and tell the crowd to boo as loud as they can.

Some would argue that the Queen is "England", as she represents the head of the country. Therefore by singing god save our queen you are actually singing god save our country. Maybe thats just me reading to much into the lyrics? :102:

And she's head of a lot of countries...

Sometimes people feel so strongly about something that they act in an unsavory manner, i agree that booing is not the correct thing to do, however im suggesting that people do it for certain reasons that sometimes cannot be controlled.
