Rio Ferndinand joined Leeds eight months after Heskey went to Liverpool. His Leeds debut was indeed at Filbert Street, and it finished 3-1. Savage, Akinbiyi, Taggart. Heskey did score that day, but he was playing against Charlton at Anfield. Rio’s move to Man Utd was almost two years later.

The game you apparently remember didn’t happen.

He’s thinking of Rio at West Ham prior to his big Leeds move, I think.

This was the game I was on about. If you look at the Leeds line up, you will notice the absence of Rio.

They obviously got their games mixed up as well
 
Yeah, well - I remember him scoring five past Bobby Moore and then ran out the ground and dived into the river to save some drowning kittens

Gave me a high five as he came back into the stadium

I remember him not really featuring for ages other than a start at Newcastle away when I think he was a bit shite. Then his lass celebrated Pea Son's non-sacking? He featured more after that and was a key player in winning the ****ing league.....jebus.
 
Supposedly left Villa because they wouldn't pay him £30k a week. Imagine that now given the average wage of our 25 man squad from the last PL season!
 
Can't believe it was 10 years ago that he signed!

And that Nicky Barmby was here when he arrived... Forgot he ever even played for us.
