If Milan was not here then i would say no ,as he is i think he will but has to clear out the dead wood MDV ,Elvis and so on

It doesn't matter if its Milan or Abramovich, the likes of DJ Campbell are going to want regular first team football

But the question isn't that.I'd like to keep hold of all five of them but do you seriously think Campbell and Fryatt are going to be happy with a place on the bench at best.Someone or two are going to grow restless and want to leave.

Of course not, but you seem to be suggesting we'll sell Hume as soon as we get a decent offer. It shouldn't be about selling players because we get a decent offer, if we sell players it should be because we don't want them.

I still believe that Ollie will be looking for an out and out goalscorer somebody capable of playing off Howard and banging in 20 or so goals a season and IMO at present none of the current batch are capable of this.

Maybe Campbell with the service.

We have two Humes? :icon_conf

Hume and Howard started yesterday, so they are our current first choice strikers. So do you really think he'd sell Hume just because Fryatt might be unhappy?

We shouldn't be under pressure to sell our best players, so IH should be given time to assess the best partnership before deciding who is surplus to requirements.

Do you think the five mentioned will all be happy to stay at the Club even if it means bench warmimg? Can you not at least see what I'm trying to say ?

I wasn't suggesting anything of the sort,I was suggesting that if a Premiership team come in for Hume then he will want to go thus taking the decision out of our hands. Its not so much not wanting them,I dare say IH would like all 5 of them Strikers but they aren't going to be happy if they aren't getting a look in

That is true and i can see some of our strikers leaving ,i think what jeff said is right IH will make his own mind up who are the best strikers to stay with the first team ,i would have thought he would want 5 2 main players , 2 subs ,one for back up ,the rest mite be up for sale or asked to find new clubs .

Howard,Hume,Campbell,Fryatt and Hume are all considered first team players,do you honestly think IH will be able to hold on to them all ?

I would've thought Hayles would be on that list Highland? And am I suffering from double vision or have we signed another Hume? :icon_bigg

How many fecking times do I have to say it. :icon_roll

You started this discussion by saying "My guess is that if one leaves it will be the one whose valuation is met,it might be both Fryatt and Hume."

My point is that if people leave it shouldn't be because of money, but because the manager wants them to leave. We shouldn't be selling our first choice players just because the people on the bench are unhappy. If we're going to sell players, sell the ones on the bench, or the ones that can't get on the bench, not the ones in the starting line up.

I agree but IMO at least one out of the five isn't going to be happy and I believe thats what DD was getting at.IMO it will be either Fryatt or DJ Campbell now that Hume has suddenly gone from Zero to Hero with parts of the Crowd within 24 hours

Fryatt was on the bench...what is it you are finding so difficult to understand? And are you nieve enough to think that we wouldnt sell Hume if the money was right ? MM will be looking to recoup some of the money he has paid out.Whether or not that is right and we should be selling Hume for the cash isn't what I'm on about

Maybe you should have made that clear earlier then, and we wouldn't have had this discussion.

No mention of it being a Premiership team, the only thing you mentioned was the money being right. Money shouldn't be the issue.

I'm not naive enough to think that if we received an offer we couldn't refuse, we wouldn't refuse it, just like any other club. But that's not the issue here. The issue is whether we should be trying to keep our better players, and letting the fringe players go, and not selling first choice players just because it will keep some of the bench warmers happy.

Sad when you have to resort to the spelling errors:icon_roll
So having agreed to the idea that one Striker will more than likely be leaving the Club because he won't be happy at being a bit-part player which one do you think it might be?

Selling any one of them at the moment would be madness until everything settles down. Hayles and Campbell were bench players at their last clubs and Fryatt said he didn't mind on his website (do we believe him?).

I'd imagine next year Hayles will only play a bit part due to age, leaving the other four. I can see Fryatt being traded in the summer.
