Not sure about getting rid.

£2M sounds good for a player that still as plenty to prove. If he was not to justify his price tag next season then the loss on his transfer fee maybe halved in a years time. On the other hand if he goes to Ipswich and he does well with the club getting promoted, his value given that he is young & English may well be £5M+

Glass half full maybe, but there seems to be an opinion that he'll never breakthrough in the game, and that could be an expensive piece of short sightedness if we are not careful.

Leaves us with no left back at the club but I, for one, am prepared to see him go simply because he's not as good as Patrice Evra or Ashley Cole

When did we sell Berner, I must pay more attention.

Err.

But more seriously, football wasn't always just about mercenaries moving from club to club, and there was some pride (however misplaced) in seeing a player from your town turn out to represent them. If you don't miss that, then fine - there isn't anything I'm gonna say that's gonna change your mind.
I'm with Dour on this one. Call me an old fashioned romantic, but I'd love to see a few local lads back in the team.

apparantly been a REVELATION no less.
Interesting...

According to reports in a national tabloid this morning, Hibs Polish keeper Grzegorz Szamotulski has entered talks with newly promoted English side Leicester City.

The 32-year-old has been a revelation since joining the Hibees in January on a 6 month deal, producing some quite outstanding displays.

Hibs have offered Szamotulski a new contract at Easter Road, thought to be a 1-year-deal, but the Foxes have offered the player more money and a longer deal, and it looks like today's game at Pittodrie against Aberdeen will be his last.

Szamotulski would join pub team defender Robbie Nielson :icon_lol:, who has also signed a pre-contract at the Walkers Stadium.
