I would not want any of our better players to be sold to Championship rivals. Dj aside.

Same here it gets quite annoying when our own fans look at LCFC as a two bit small club that whenever a player shows some form he wants to leave or he should be sold at the first opportunity.

Mattock may have the potential, but he just looks so lazy, he doesnt look like he has the determination to reach that potential at all

I don't think we will ever get the money for Mattock that was being talked about last close season

Let's sell the lazy workshy unpromising good-for-nothing fecker

Leaves us with no left back at the club but I, for one, am prepared to see him go simply because he's not as good as Patrice Evra or Ashley Cole

If we can't sell him we should kill him instead - or at least break his leg so he can't ever play for us again

You make me smile Homer, and for that I thank you.

Or just let him read some of these posts from the negative fans we have, feckin losers.

wtf? ill never understand why it matters whether hes from Leicester or not? i think personally him being from Leicester blinds a lot of fans into liking him, he made so many mistakes that led to goals goals last season, i just dont think hes good enough yet, and i dont think he has shown any of the potential some people make out either. I think 2million is very reasonable for someone with no Premier League experience.

Perhaps that's because you're from Hinckley?

Leicester lad, Leicester supporter, potential (perhaps) to be a great player - I'd be really sad to see him go. It's a dwindling throwback to earlier times - and if you don't miss that, you might as well just join the gloryhunters watching 'their' team of bought-in professionals on the telly.

So, just blind patriotism then. With the extra insult and accusation of armchair fan at the end to boot. Nice.

Patriotism in the Socratean way is rarely blind, of course. And insults and accusations may be deserved.

I dont see how it isnt blind to be perfectly honest. I cant see a valid reason why him being from Leicester makes it any worse to see him go than someone who isnt from Leicester.

Err.

But more seriously, football wasn't always just about mercenaries moving from club to club, and there was some pride (however misplaced) in seeing a player from your town turn out to represent them. If you don't miss that, then fine - there isn't anything I'm gonna say that's gonna change your mind.

football has moved on though, and a player such as Mattock is hardly a miss if he does move. I don't really have such strong feelings for players being local to the club I support having always lived at between 200 and 320 miles away from Leicester.

The time for pride for a local area is when a player turns out for the club and proves themselves.......joe has yet to do so in my opinion, though it could be I don't have the local blinkers!
