Only the bottom two went down in thise days. With three games left we were 21st - after the Swindon game mentioned above we were 22nd - then came a 2-3 defeat at Portman Road which took us into 23rd, a relegation place for only the second time in the season.

We were where we were
It was only because they were restructuring the divisions, the top division was changed from 20 to 22 teams, so four teams were promoted that season but only two relegated. They messed around with the size of the league a few times in the 80s & 90s.
