So what do the sack Ollie crew think about replacing him with the managerial giant that is Paul Lambert?

But that isn't the point, I understand what you are saying, but to keep Ollie because Milan may make yet another poor appointment is not a viable reason to retain the Tom Tit that has just relegated us.

FFS Milan there are a sting of names of out of work Managers, or Managers who are now coaching or Assistant who IMO would do a better job and would no doubt jump at the chance of getting back on the merry go round.

Mike Newell
Steve Cotterill
Phil Parkinson
Richard Money

To name 4, who have experience at managing league 1 and Championship level and wouldn't cost a bean in compensation

Yes but thats totally not the point. If, as rumoured, it's Paul Lambert, what do you think?

When he managed Livingston it was not only his first managerial position but he had to work under very severe financial restraints and the Club was very close to going bust. He's done ok at Wycombe and and a successful playing career ,believe he won a European/Champions League title with Dortmund, not that a good playing career means you'll be a good Manager.I find it slightly baffling when people say they know very little about it then say he's shite.I would prefer him here than Holloway so it loooks like I'm alone on wanting him at the Club.Just because he's a virtual unheaard of doesn't mean he will be no good.saying all that its more than likely lazy journalism and also there are set to be a few Managerial changes in the SPL and he may well find a job at either Motherwell or Hearts.

Too be honest it wouldn't be the most exciting appointment but Holloway is a proven failure here whereas Lambert isn't. So purely on that basis I would go for Lambert, at least Lambert has some pedigree albeit as a player, and with better resources and players at his disposal he may well come here and do a mighty fine job.

Highland, how does his teams tend to play ?? On the deck attractive attacking football or defensive hoofball :102:

To be honest PFKA I didn't see Livi play,I've seen Wycombe play a few times and it wasn't hoofball, hardly silky flowing football but I don't think he had the playeers to do that,Stef Oakes plays for them, one thing I don't think the team would lack his drive and I think he will be able to motivate them. Not saying he's going to be wonderful but I think its unfair to judge him on his time at Livi (unless I've got it completely wrong).I don't want an exciting appointment or a Manager I like I just want someone who appears to know his arse from his elbow, which its seems this Radish doesn't.

Paul Lambert, who resigned as Wycombe manager yesterday, is in the frame to return to Motherwell should Mark McGhee quit Fir Park for Hearts in the summer. (The Sun)

I think any manager who quits their post in the lower leagues will be speculatively linked with us....This thread could break the forum by the start of the next season.

If Lambert has the choice of Motherwell and UEFA Cup Football and us and Div one then I think you will all be happy because he won't be coming here. However I can't see McGhee working under Romanov's restraints

Out the two would prefer us to go after McGhee and let him come back and close out his unfinished business *Dons tin hat*
